Unknown Pain

The trickling of my tears made
me aware of how i could do nothing
I couldn't have help them
and i couldn't reassure them
that a change was coming

Why must the skin were in
make us so different
We all came from our mothers womb
But why was I destined
to be born as a "lesser"
Although all those years we were
Beaten and humiliated
They never lost hope because
they knew our blood sweat and prayers
Would lead to something greater

More Than Fascination

When I first met you
you were so cute that
my brain just couldn't compute
so I suddenly went mute
As I stared in awe
Wanting to know you
Noticing that
the reason my heart ached was
because of you a girl
whose much more than a pretty face
I never wanted to make love out of lust
but then I realized
that it was in you I trust
So I must change
to show you
this isn't simply fascination

Simply Not Infatuation

When I first met you
you were so cute that
my brain just couldn't compute
so I went mute
 As I stared in awe
Wanting to know you
Noticing that
the reason my heart ached was
 because of you
A girl much more than a pretty face
I never wanted to make love out of lust
but then I realized
that it was in you I trust
So I must change
to show you
this isn't simply a fascination

Unmoving Pillar

At times I feel like I’m surrounded by this strange force
it’s like the worlds resting on my shoulders
And it’s weight is trying to pin me down…
But no matter how much pressure I face I never give in
Because I know that although my situation seems daunting
With God’s help I will prevail!!

Yes the enemy tries to test me
Blitzing me with hail trying to Blur my vision
But with God’s Constant provision
I move forward each and every day
Although there are times when I am Staggering

Swaying side to side
through life’s rapid motions and riptides
Constantly taking on water yet I always stay afloat
The reason behind this is
I’m Just a vessel
God’s the captain of this ship
Guiding me to a Harbor known as salvation
Placing me on that narrow path
Rescuing my soul from eternal damnation
It’s the reason for my spirits Jubilant celebration

But why is it that around the world doubt God
Just because his existence isn’t something they can define
Open up your eyes and realize all he has done for you
Open up your mind for a moment and be transformed by his refining love grace and mercy
He will always welcome you with open arms
And its only in his arms that you know your free from all harm

Parasitic Life Form

It‘s alive!
A life form
Thriving on hatred
Reaped from societies
Greatest blunder
Like lighting
Follows thunder
We are following our ancestors
Reproducing civilization
Mistake
Disregard the fact
That we are all human
our blood is red
I smirk when I’m contented
And shed tears when I’m poignant
We are all equal
cease this schism
And trounce racism

Facing the Future

When that time comes
I’ll be ready
ready to take on
all my responsibilities’
ready to take on
life throwing everything
that defines me
but for now just now
won’t you please
let me be me
we sit down
hoping and wondering
what will happen next
 Slowly being crushed
 by the pressure of
 reality but the truth is
we’re just ordinary people
we don’t know which way to go
-john legend-
Yet we move forward
knowing that things
can only get better

Poet's Therapy

Why am I treated so differently
It feels like every action I make no matter what it may be
Results in me being criticized by those around me
Am I taking them to seriously? I’d often ponder
So every once in a while I tried to relax, but
It’s hard to ignore their taunts and jeers
that was always followed by frantic laughter
which formed a unsettling composition
With silent anger as a undertone

And this is how I grew up
year after year
Keeping everything inside
Afraid to stand out because I feared being rejected
Afraid to speak up because I feared being ignored
As a result I became disfigured
Crippled with nervousness to the point where
everything I said came out in fragments

But the thing about fragments is that no matter how much I speak
I was always left wanting to say more
I just wanted to express myself and participate in fellowship
So I prayed and I prayed until one day the spell was lifted
My fragments became words and my words became sentences
No words could express the joy I felt

Yet why am I standing before you today?
The answer is simple.
I’m here to tell everyone that God has a plan you.
Because I was once considered a victim
but now I’m a vessel

The Oasis

Life is the survival of the fittest and it’s the greatest battle we’ll ever endure. It’s plagued with ups and downs , so in the midst of it all we comb through the wilderness in search of an oasis. A place where you can truly feel at ease. It was there that I spotted her.

She was like a swan
her beauty was immense
but when she spread her wings
her grace surpassed it all
Thought it happens often
Every time she does I’m left bewildered
I believe that nature is a marvelous thing crafted by God himself
but it’s hard to imagine such a fascinating creature of wonder

This inner passion in me wants to pursue,
but this is different from a regular hunt.
I want to lover her, but I’ve no experience.
I’ll step on a twig, she’ll be startled and drift away.

Which is more painful?
Admiring something from afar that you’re afraid to grasp.
Or being the reason why they’re so far away.
My thought are many but my words or few, these words I’ve written are just fragments of what crosses my mind when I think of you

Idle Thoughts

Its amazing how weeks fly by
When your doing nothing worth while
and all there is to do is sit around and think
Yet it seems like I am forever stuck on the brink
Of a epiphany? Or maybe its madness
My youth is fleeting its time I buckle down
But I never wanted to be a dog
to those who wear crowns
I wish life was simple to where I could
Realize my talents buy spinning a wheel and
find out all I need to do at the press of a button.

Broken Bliss

So another year passes
and everything you
thought you knew
collapses
then you question yourself
why does Everything around
you have to change
when in reality you were the only
one that ever changed

They say
Maturity comes with age
but in your case its you've
reached another crucial stage
it may seem painful and
you may feel insecure
but as time passes
You’ll break free and
Shine as a figure high above
with immeasurable prowess
Who knows she’s beloved
