Summer Is Lemonade

Summer is a lemonade

Summer breeze blowing the grass around
with a warm sun kissing my face
blue skies wrap and hug me
as I watch the butterflies race.
Summer gives me lazy days
coloured flowers and dancing trees
smell of charcoal and starry nights
brings back childhood memories.
Summer is an endless beach
sun cream, bikinis and beer
salty seaspray, fish and chips
postcards saying "wish you were here".
sunburnt shoulders and fun fares
laughter never seemed to fade
grab the ice and share around
yes Summer is a lemonade

Freedom

The Freedom song
We finally wake from masked confusion
and realise the vast illusion
vanities, egos and promotions
caused wasteful carnage and sad emotions
the world was cleansed with artificial care
grandeur, greed with none to spare
never forget and never forgive
the shackled way we had to live.
what they have sown, now let them reap
our souls are fed and now complete.
So on lonely farms and crowded streets
in palaces and in slums
give welcome to freedoms quickening feet
As silently it comes.
When you see a poor man crouched alone,
A hungry, helpless thing
set him on a moonbeam throne
and treat him like a king.
to all those who wear a hunters crown
and feast on your remains
rip away their purple gowns
And let them feel the peoples pain
Serene, unchanging, ever fair,
freedom smiles with secret mirth
And in a surge of insane devotion
we can release this captive earth
No iron bars, no flashing guns,
No land, no sky, no sea,
not even a bolts from Satins hell
Can keep freedom away from me

Sleeping Voices

Nineteen years and my heart still breaks
Somehow you completed me in the most magical way.
As we continue to stroll down our soul mate's path
I know that we will continue never-ending laughter.
When I placed my hand in your hand and trusted you with my heart.
This was only the start.
To be accepted and loved unconditionally.
And time spent with you
Somehow when I wasn't looking
your love slipped quietly into my heart.
And I knew deep down we will never be apart.
The love that you shine down on me
is brighter than the sun.
Just pure happiness makes me feel like I've won.
Because your love is a gift Joan that could never be replaced.
I know that these feelings will never be erased.
The letter you wrote me all those years ago.
Is resting in my heart forever more.

From Hell To Me

Hidden away by a Mother's love
To the protective torture of the clergy glove
Sentenced to a life of hell
Before life began, the hammer fell

	Frightened children, black and white
The dog yard coffin, the dark of night
The stars looked down on naked flesh
Scared eyes looked up through wire mesh

Until the stars could look no more
And the sun, it opened daylights door
The demons woke and walked the halls
The scream of silent “help me” calls

No one hears their silent pain
Or see’s the blood between the grain
A nation’s fear of God above
No one to hold, no one to love

	Finally a letter states
We want them home, freedom awaits
But where is heaven, where is hell
Through their fear, they cannot tell

	Violence, drink and Daddie’s girl
Wishing she could be a pearl
All safe and snug, within the clam
No one to fear, but who I am

So, who am I and what’s my worth
What’s my purpose, on this earth?
I’m here to live, and one day die.
	I am me – myself – Just I

The Key

Gather all the beauty you can see
and make a wonderful sparkling key
each time it turns will makes you smile

Your door will open up with style.
then sweet and loving words will roll
the key will unlock your mind and soul

Sad old thoughts will be on the run
Replaced by magical hours of fun
Now your life has turned around

With the inner peace that you have found
And everyone will rush to see
The holder of this beautiful key

They will learn that life can be something new
Universal dreams are pure and true
So change each day from grey to blue

Shine the rainbow colors
with the radiant heart that beats in you
and find your key of life in YOU.

Hope Is

Hope is.....

Hope is the torch which keeps darkness at bay
a solitary beacon to show us the way
Hope is the magic that greets the new day
and should be the last thing that we give away
Hope is the dream that will come tomorrow
not a simmering mask underneath your sorrow.
Hope is the sparkle when tears fill you eyes
strengthens hellos and softens goodbyes.
So add hope to all that you have planned
cos sometimes roses do grow on sand.......

An Empty Cage

Some hearts are held in an empty cage
scream with rage
then scar with age
some hearts burn with an eternal flame

play the game
take the fame
some hearts just learn to be
watch and see

wild and free
some hearts are the treasure deep inside
stem your tide
and never hide

some hearts can pulse with love
yet die surrounded by tears
some hollow hearts can echo
sounds of silent fears

So listen to its crazy beat
follow its rhythm and its range
wake up to face a bright new day
and realise every heart can change..

A Childs Life

A Childs life

----------------

WITH JOY AND CHARM THEY HUG THE WORLD

AND GAZE WITH SUDDEN WONDER

LIFE SEEMS AN ENDLESS RAY OF HOPE

IN EYES THAT CAPTURE FASCINATION.

AND SALTY TEARS AND CUTS AND GRAZES

LEAD TO LAUGHTER AND CHILDISH PHRASES

IMAGINATION RULES AT EVERY TURN

AND THROUGH THOSE INNOCENT EYES WE LEARN.

WE LISTEN TO ALL THAT THEY HAVE PLANNED

GIVE THEM HELP AND SHOW WE UNDERSTAND

AND WATCH THEM GROW SO QUICK AND FAST

AND REALISE CHILDHOOD COULD'NT LAST

THOUGH THEY CAUSE US TEARS AND PAIN

WE WOULD SUFFER IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN

AND WHEN THEY FORM A STUBBORN WILL

WE SHOW THEM THAT WE LOVE THEM STILL

Bridges Through Life

Bridges through life
Whether dancing through lifes circle or sitting in the pews,
the world is full of wonder and knee-jerk news..
For those full of spite and woeful complaining,
the world is full of darkness with no hope remaining...
For those full of love and caring,
the world is full of warmth in sharing..
So take that chance to build many bridges
elevating love and lifes many privileges..
You can make this world a beautiful place
if you toss away frowns and put smiles on a face.
But you are who you are smart as a fox;
why confine yourself to a bleak little box?
When all the bull*****and fiction turn into fact
Don't destroy your bridges, leave them intact
The journey stops with the ending day
you will never again pass along that way
You spanned the chasm and turned the tide
now look back in safety from the other side
There are generations that will follow
who need your bridges to cross their hollow
They will laugh at uncovering a hidden gem
and realise these bridges were built just for them

Lost Inside

Lost inside

Lost inside a broken dream
a flame amidst the madness
stifle every silent scream
to keep away the sadness.
Lost inside a deepened shadow
imprisoned by invisible tears
with a false laugh and fake smile
you keep away the fears.
Lost inside a rainbow
what colour do you pick?
Is red safer than yellow
or is it all a trick?
Lost inside the weight of life
with childhood out of reach
there is nothing else for me to learn
but here is something I can teach.
When you feel your time is over
and the pages won't turn back
fill your head with memories
keep friendships all intact.
In the crazy days and nights
when you have a thousand things to do
let happy thoughts fill up your heart
and spend some time with you.
