A Childs Life

A Childs life

----------------

 WITH JOY AND CHARM THEY HUG THE WORLD

AND GAZE WITH SUDDEN WONDER

LIFE SEEMS AN ENDLESS RAY OF HOPE

IN EYES THAT CAPTURE FASCINATION.

AND SALTY TEARS AND CUTS AND GRAZES

LEAD TO LAUGHTER AND CHILDISH PHRASES

IMAGINATION RULES AT EVERY TURN

AND THROUGH THOSE INNOCENT EYES WE LEARN.

 WE LISTEN TO ALL THAT THEY HAVE PLANNED

GIVE THEM HELP AND SHOW WE UNDERSTAND

AND WATCH THEM GROW SO QUICK AND FAST

AND REALISE CHILDHOOD COULD'NT LAST

THOUGH THEY CAUSE US TEARS AND PAIN

WE WOULD SUFFER IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN

AND WHEN THEY FORM A STUBBORN WILL

WE SHOW THEM THAT WE LOVE THEM STILL

Gabe Shelly June 25, 2013 at 4:19 PM I don't like the way you've punctuated your poem. I guess you're trying to add an artistic tint-- a new way of writing poetry. For me, it makes it hard to catch the rhyme, especially that hidden beat that is in all poems. What you wrote is very much true though, and I would not doubt that you have a kid of your own. It sounds like you really care about their welfare. g.
