Closed Lines

Brightness fading
Time takes its toll

Green encroaches the outer shell
Putrid smells clouding heads

Weak and beaten
Lifeless and broken
Structure deteriorating

One last adventure
A final memory

Boxes waiting to be filled
A final resting place

Open Up

Look around
Open your eyes
Tell me what you see

A bird
A building
A Car
A Person

Open your heart
Tell me what you see

A relationship
A loved one
A child of innocents
A future

Open your spirit
Tell me what you see

A connection
A journey
A lifestyle
A new beginning

Now
Tell me what you feel

A change
A warmth
A fire
A spark

A life time of curiosity

Reactions

Time drips down
The small of his back
Red streaks fill broad shoulders

Legs shake with
Paralyzing frustration
Twitching with hunger

The world stops
Relief rushes to fill
The space of need

Musk and sweat fill
The air
Barely masking the morning sun rise

Why Is It

Why is it so hard
For Someone
Anyone
A society
A government
A person

To understand something
A reason
A opinion
A though
A way of life

However small
A favorite color
A name
A title
A letter

However big
A revolution
A riot
A choice
A change

Clouded by judgment
We live
We die
We change
We hide

With open eyes
We learn
We journey
We become stronger
We find ourselves
