A Family's Secret

i feel the pain
i see the pain
i want to be strong
i want to be brave
its them i want to save
but i dont know how
i try to make them smile
but im not worth their while
Mommy i see you cry
though you do not try
you do not know what to do
i want to help
sisters are sick
daddy is weak
he's doing his job
but you just sob
we all need help
you've kept your faith
you keep me safe
but no more shall i watch
as you cry
i want to try
its my turn mommy
i am sorry
but i will no longer cry in front of you
i will stay strong
just for you
its my turn
to hide these tears

Life Time Friend a Poem For Evelin

My dear friend
you are so special
so sweet and understanding
you stand by me
you listen to me
and help me through hard times
my friend you are amazing
i never want to loose you
because you are there
and i am here for you
my friend please stay
and let's play
as we did when we were young
years have passed
and here we are
as close as can be
i love you as family
and will always be here
because so are you
my dear friend
i love you so

18 Years of Life

Another year is going to pass...
18 years of life...
and I still feel...
as if I have done nothing.
Even though I know that is not true.
I sang in an amazing choir
for the four years of high school
I helped several people
I helped them overcome fears
and much more.
I volunteer at the animal shelter
I feed the animals
I play with them
I help people find the perfect match
and their faces when they finally adopt...
that is my payment
and a great one at that.

I do know one thing...
in my 18 years of life
I have done nothing...
Nothing for my family.
Sure I help clean
but that is hardly anything...
I can't lift their spirits
I can't lift the burden of bills
I can't do anything.
I wish I could do more.

Now in high school
I helped create a club
the Animal Awareness Club.
We informed students about animals.
Animals that were endangered
We held a trip to a kind of animal sanctuary.
We also sold food to raise money at food court
In the end the teacher was leaving
She was our adviser
we couldn't find another
and the club died out..
In high school
everyone pushed me with prom.
"it's not my thing"
that's what I would say
I wanted to go
My family wanted to go,
my sisters had both gone before me.
but it was too expensive.
I told myself
"we need that money for bills"
and we did, for other things too.
There was no prom for me
there was no senior trip.
In my 18 years of life
I have only done so much

A Books Wonders

Ah, what wonders a book holds
A journey to a new realm.
A place to get lost and enjoy what is found
A place of folly
A place of fears
A place you've never seen before,
Even in your dreams.

Twists and turns in every plot
Keep you from leaving pages to rot.
Books can make you shudder
Whether you read them in a gutter
Or in the comfort of a library
Whether it is romance or horror
Fact or fiction
There is so much more to say
But it cannot be put into words
The books are wonders themselves...
Ah, what wonders a book holds

The Fool Was Me

I'm spiraling back down
Just like when i finally thought
That I needed what I found
Funny way to put it
But it's true
I found you
Thought that I was free
But you put me down under
Farther than before
And just like the fool
I played the tool
I played role of the tool
Was I that easy to you?to use?
We are over
But you are still there
A scar on my heart
Though it was you who cheated
They say it was me
I took the blame
And I'm still doing the same
Just like before
Even though I was faithful
They call me the fool
And I know that it's true
Ever since I played the fool
I've been crying for you
Like I have for no other
We are over
But again I am the only fool
For believing in you
And your lies

Night

I find comfort in the night
Fireflies and stars
The rivers glisten and sparkle
A reflection of the world can be seen
The moon shines bright
Hear the crickets chirp
And the wolves howl
Hear the owl hoot
And the world sleep soundly
Nothing but the night to see
Nothing but night for me
So much to see
But sadly the night must end
Like all good things do
But every night is new
I will be there to await
What will come when one is awake
To watch the night go by
So many things to find
Every night is one of a kind
I'll just have to see
What awaits me
In tonight's wonderful night
But I must be quick
Because all good things come to an end
I don't care if I'm sick
I'll find a way there
To watch this night
tonight.

Autumn Night

leaves change color
the cool breeze flies
the song of the leaves roars
rustles and bustles in the brush
birds begin to sing to the south
sky turns red as the sun sets on an Autumn evening
clouds not white but pink
coco and cookies all around
coats and children surround
the fire of life
roads and streets quiet
what a sound, what a sight
what a wonderful Autumn night
marsh mellows in fire places
smoke of warmth fills the night sky
sweet Autumn night
make the stars shine bright
the sun rises
the moon disappears
stars that once shone
are now gone
what a night
what a sight
please Autumn day
bring one more

Alike

you don't see what i see
you don't hear what i hear
you are not me
I'm not you
I have no clue why
but I think we are alike
just you and I
we like the same things
we like to sing
we like to hide
we say sorry all the time
we help others
without pay
we draw and write poetry
but we have things we hate too
we hate jerks
hate to hate
hate to be alone
hate people who judge to soon
but we have each other
we think alike in many ways
so much to say
but we keep our mouths shut
hide to keep safe
try to find a quiet place
oh yes, very alike
what a funny sight
a girl laughing to herself
and hiding under a tree
but they don't see you
and how much we are..
truly alike

Her Story

as i sit
my mind slips
i hear a ping
and feel like i could sing
i hear a bird
a sound i never heard
a beautiful sound
one i have found
like no other
i see a mother
cuddle her child
she does not know she had been defiled
she cried and cried
one day she died
no one cared
they never shared
the love she needed
they didn't hear how she pleaded
for someone to save her
no one knows for sure
how she died
but that she tried
to keep a smile
and make her life worth while
now she is a star
so far
in the sky
and she shines bright
with all her might
to let her mother know
to show
that she loves her
forever more

Breathe

the sadness and madness arrives
so i take a step outside
i just breathe in
it's such a wonderful thing
to feel relieved
to feel alive
to feel free
just to breathe in and live
is a thing that's hard to explain
i wonder why
why is it only this breath relieving me
saving me
but then i see why
it is because i am away
away from what i fear
away from the mirrors
the mirrors of truth
i don't see myself and that breath..
that single breath says it all
it tells me i can move on
that i can stand tall
that i wont fall
all i have to to is breath
and all will fade
into the mist of misery
and away from me
all i have to do is breath in and take that walk
the walk back to the mirrors of truth
and wake once again and i will be free
