The Way It Was

The song starts to play and I start to cry
How can so much hurt come from a song like that?
Once upon a time it used to bring me happiness and laughs
Now all it brings me is sorrow
You were my world and the song was ours
Now you're gone leaving me with nothing but a broken heart
It isn't easy to forget about everything
That song meant so much to me and now it's all been taken away
I had a dream that the song was going to bring us together again
But now, I don't want to listen to the song anymore
The song is a constant reminder of our tragedy and it will always hurt
I've tried to forget but nothing seems to work
I'll listen to that song a million times more
Until the day we are reunited, together forever

Cannot Change

A story cannot change a memory
A thought cannot change the past
A regret cannot change the present
But a feeling, can change the future

You Are

You are the apple of my eye
And the blood that runs through my veins
You are the passion that I always wanted
And the love I never had
You are the sea and I am the wind
And together we create a storm
I think I once felt this way
But with you, I feel love

Dream

His eyes in the light of the moon shined like no other
His tears dripped down his face more than I had ever seen
His breaths in place with the beat of his heart
His hands all in a fist with no one to his
His steps shaking
His head sweating like if he were nervous
His body came close with nothing to say
His voice seemed to have walked away
And to wake up in the middle of the night
Knowing it was just a dream

Cocaine

A constant dream of a separate reality where you are in a high
The world is at your feet and you feel like you can fly
The pressures of a pleasure that you never want to lose
A mix of emotions that are never yours to choose
Feeling like it will take away your pain
That is the greatest feeling of a world with cocaine

But when the time comes there will be repercussions
That will leave you with untimely concussions
A failure with your heart that will leave you so low
Now all you will ever feel is a very hard blow
A stroke in your brain can make you go insane
You will be the only one to hear yourself complain

Cocaine is an addiction that you will never want to stop
And it will make you nothing but a raggedy old mop
So if you don’t end that annoying vain strife
All you will ever become is a brainless low life
Ignore those thoughts of surrendering to despair
Because if not, soon you will take your last breath of air

Never Mine

Walking through your door not knowing how to tell you everything I feel.
You've always been someone else’s; never mine.
I didn't care that you didn't feel the same way.
You never saw how I looked at you.
You never noticed that I cared.
Now it's my turn to tell you how I feel.
You've been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I think it's time you knew why I put up with you for so long.
You've changed the way I look at things and it is fine.
But, you've always been someone else’s; never mine.
When I look at you and see a smile,
Even though I know you're thinking of someone else,
I can't help but smile.
I've loved you since the beginning.
Since that moment I first laid eyes on you.
I felt something for you.
But, you've always been someone else’s; never mine.
I've never been able to tell you how I feel.
But finally, I have my chance.
I've never been able to get over you.
If you don't care what I say then I'll know
You'll always be someone else’s; never mine.

This Pain

This pain
I feel as if it is a part
Deep inside my heart
That will someday make me go insane
It makes life seem so plain
Perhaps I was not smart
And this made us grow apart
Now things may never be the same
I know we both hold deep inside
A strength that keeps our love alive
If once we held our lives together
Then we could set our differences aside
And once again we will survive
To make out love live forever
