The Physics of Sunshine

The Physics of Sunshine

And I'm finding it hard to break through and tell you
About the physics of sunshine
And when it's all over we may find ourselves together singing out of tune
About the wishing wells and spells softly spoken in the dark

In an electric arc of promised carousel rides, candy thoughts, and whispers of coastlines
Explored and undone petals washed in rays of time and history
I'm finding it hard to explain to you
All that is misunderstood

The sunshine is warm and the particles they spin
In and out of existence
Oh, though I find myself lost within the entropic withering energy of now
Without the physics and the lyrics of sunshine cast
I could never lay these particles into you

I'm with you on this deserted but scarred terrain
Dancing with the theories of existence all entwined
In our glass of wine and our lips locked around the mirrors
Of today, colored with the existence of tomorrow

And I see you in my dreams
Often in the sunshine you are singing
Often in the darkness you are clinging to my t-shirt
And tugging at my heart through my jeans

Even in the sunshine I'm lost without you
And though gravity holds me here
The spin of our destiny still needs to be tied with string
My love inflated – bound within this universe

My heart and fear are now time tested
And now it is into the sunshine of another place parallel to our own
Whether in this dimension or the next one over
I'm tied to you fast forward or rewind
Our love will always be alive

Tried and Twisted - a Love of Toxic Color

TRIED AND TWISTED – A LOVE OF TOXIC COLOR

Tried twisted lover, are you dying for a kiss?
Harmony is crawling
Looking for slivers of forever bliss
I agree, it’s hard, it’s not just you, go on
We have to move on
Let it out don’t cringe at the colors
It’s the same on the other side of the canvas
Tried and twisted colors, which ones do you want me to mix?
Waiting on the moment the palm trees will sing
They want to bend and brush the foam that’s
Sucking, blowing, inhaling and listening for the
Toxicity of your colors as they run
Tired and restless lover, your love is sweetening the taste of life
You left the sugar on my tongue
You wanted to touch it, but life wore on

___________________________

Every morning they rose and left the colors in their wake
Racing off to the monochrome of some tried and twisted fate
They rolled towards the colors, towards forever and all of their past lovers
Hot heels and corduroy, broken bounds and hair ties found

Blink, blink, she kicked the door in

Now she’s crying in the sand mixing her toxic colors with her hand
Star-ridden and her clothes teach her lessons
Scent of lucky and hardly a trend to begin
Anew, another tried twisted toxic lover

Let's Stay Together

LET’S STAY TOGETHER

There are so, so many stars we haven’t seen
Cries and echoes traveling toward us we have yet to hear
These things make me wonder in the night, is this real?
Who am I gonna be?
When am I gonna sleep?

Too long a road, too short a step
I’m dreaming of rolling hills kissing my feet
     But the dream is skipping
To think we may have missed the best part

When will we sing?
And when can we begin - to stay alive with each other
Let’s stay together

I can’t seem to align the stars for you and
Pitch forward the realization that everything
You believe in
Is only as real
As it is to you and me

I see the scratches in the dirt of your dreams
And, alas the water does drag it smooth
As we hold on tight
And it’s helping me
Let’s stay together

Dust Love

DUST LOVE

Awake at once and dismissing affection
Your adulation, my crush-delight
Idolatry, inclination, unfettered rapture
I’m wild for worship
Your light lashes move me, pull me in
Anticipation, key
Knots of wills and kiss me please
Omission of echoes, inhale the ocean breeze
Masked in bliss laced with vicious
Black steel with harsh hot thrills and the
Two barstools, waiting idly by

Dust In the Sunbeam

Dust in the Sunbeam

Dust floats in and out of time and
Cold terrors tremble within this warm beam
I’m tiring of this existence
Where love exists unbound
No longer too timid to tell of tailored hearts unwound

Within this path shallow words ring hollow
Within this tired tirade of passion I weep
Sticking to my guns of disbelief
I slide into
With your rose clenched I keep cool

Sunbeams take this precious tame time away and allow
To trust in me your world of particles spinning to and fro
Living within this world of licking bare skin

Sunbeams I need dust to redeem that life which is not a lie
And confirm that taking hold of everything is all this world wills

Whisper into my mind the torrid tackling of true trouble
I’m against the wall, jeans scraping
I’m waiting for disaster, waiting for my time

I’m with you always and it is in the means and methods you find me
In the dust my love is not lost or low
Yet, along living beams I travel
And that is truth

Told you I was real, racy and riddled with wine lines
I’m the epitome of the street signals and cityscape
Scattered in your dreams of pavement pounded and wrecked

Beams are my obsession and within this I live
You have to take with you, no
You have to leave me here

An Old Building By the Saint Johns

AN OLD BUILDING BY THE ST. JOHNS

Prose and fingers lingering to the North arise!
On this day 25 degrees North of the Sun
Venus and the moon shall collide and dance
Chance!

The St. Johns and a ripple to the retaining nipple
Look!
Abandoned worn jewel on a starved stepped slab
Timeless in presence, structured for intimacy
Star quenching its thirst through the glazing
Into the cool waters of saints it slips
And whispers follow

Hushing and treading - lets sneak in!
Breath of cool air under your skirt
As I lift you up and over
You giggle as you enjoy the hurt
Shhh! Shhh!
We're in!

The smell of flowers pressed and our fortune's luck
Wood creaks underneath sandal-padded feet
Leading by hands clasped in anticipation
A flurry of thoughts of pouring waxy lust
On you this way and that

Silence but the breeze swaying the palm tree leaves
Reflections of the evening and
Shadows drape worn stairs
Impenetrable fixtures of ornament and glass
Warm evening beams
Teasing our skin
St. Anthony’s Temptation is luring us further in!

Let Go

LET GO

I wonder what it is like on your side of the radio
You probably sing the songs of how I let go
The tambourines in your head would let go
The sunshine in love
With your lines bursting
Into forever and glitter and disco

Poured your soul into my lap and let go
Dancing and swimming with the wind as you held the facade
In lingo, in limbo, I found you there
Your body is firm, you should know
Like sand around the pillow
And the whispers of tomorrow tease you

It's me, I'm calling
About the way we let go

That Line of Want Within

THAT LINE OF WANT WITHIN

How did you know that such a thing
Hid beneath my scars and linens
My little line of want, my line held taut

Under white sheets as the sun pours through
Taking moisture from our wet mix
We run, hand in hand, in a violent dream
From the sin and the lust within
The water rose and met with repugnant ease
A question of beams and water-filled breeze
Lingering above our safety net
Waiting to stir the dares yet met
With the sheets askew and the moment baby blue
Talk of what was born, sure to be ridiculed
With a list of growing risks, lullabies ensued

Oh,
How did you know that such a thing
Hid beneath my scars and linens
My little line of want, my line held taut

Thoughts From Under the Sheets

THOUGHTS FROM UNDER THE SHEETS

Tricked, stolen and all but untold
Unnamed, arrested and bolted to the floor
I was wondering about what was on the other side
Would there be a foothold on your tree?
A rise from the light whispers in my dreams?

Trances and wishes of something, something
News of neo-breathe without hesitation
With hands clasped not in retaliation
Scared, sad, and my sacred torn jeans
In a bunch, on your floor, mixed with yours

Turn to me, anxiety aside, but with pride
Wide open lips, tongues traced, yet no judgment to pass
Peace, safety and love found under the sheets
Blown candy and the silly sweet syrup you promised me

Hot Earrings

HOT EARRINGS

Tri-tangled and brushing
Along your cheek
As you take a sip

Click, click, click

Your hair crosses over your skin
Bliss

I wish I could
Kiss, kiss, kiss

Your jaw is slipping forward as you
Drink and mint
Drink and mint
