The Clearing

The winding road to which I must walk;
it curves this way and that.
Would be much easier to simply say no,
but what benifit withholds in that?
In order to reach the place that lies beyond,
beyond the winding road of torturous temptation,
I must look within and find myself.
The part of me willing to let go,
the piece that wants to move on.
So to all the things I once knew,
all the friends still stuck in the past,
I wish you well with my sorrowful good-byes.
It is time for my once tainted mind,
now sober and real,
to help me follow the road my heart has shown me to.
The winding road lying ahead,
I will walk through and throuogh,
for the clearing ahead shows true happiness,
not the kind I used to know.
I know it will be difficult,
one of the hardest things i'll ever do,
but in the end it will be worth it,
for along the way,
I know i'll find myself, too.

Lost and Found

I can't feel the bruises being formed anymore;
It feels as though he will never be finished,
but he knows I can take no more,
lying on the floor completely diminished.

I look at the stranger in the mirror,
hating the only things I can see.
If only my sight and mind were clearer...
maybe I would know what i should be.

Going back to the hell I once called home...
nothing seems to help, nothing can heal...
standing straight and still aas a gnome,
I begin to let myself and my shell peel....

Shedding off all the pain of Hell,
I no longer await the sweet sound, the chiming bell....

Fear

What brought me here,
to this place in which I cannot see,
I cannot move...
There is an ocean of emotions inside of me
and I am drowning.
Nothing surrounds me...
It is only you.
Why can I not see through the disastrous mask of which you're hiding behind?
I can taste the fear in the air...
my fear.
But I do not fear that in which I cannot see
nor feel,
I fear what I feel.
I fear what blinds me.
You are nothing more than darkness peering into my soul
searching...
searching for something to take,
something to steal....
All that I am is you
I am darkness.
This is what I fear...
You are no more than darkness,
but you scream the truth.

Fireflies

The fireflies fly far and fast,
but we, we cannot escape it...
we cannot escape the rushing wind,
the crackling fires,
the pain of others....
We can tuck the feelings away in our minds,
in our hearts,
but no matter how deep we hide the hurt
it will always reappear.
Feelings will never disappear.
Our hearts,
like the ocean,
carry so much baggage,
but you can't really tell quite how much
until you've been in it.
Despite what is thought
we are not all fireflies.
We cannot fly away,
but we can spread our wings.
