My Love My Wife

My Love my wife my life
Lie in my arms
and rest your head
on my chest
listen to my heartbeat
to the song that I sing
my song a river of life
that flows out to you....

The loveliest of all women
you are my out-flowing
my out-pouring
my well my spring
and in you
my thirst is all quenched
for when you speak
its all sweet melody
A gold bowl full of incense
And in our moments
your fragrance fills the room
Dropping sweetness
Like a honeycomb

You are a living epistle
A book written only for me
to read and understand
and behold you
in your purest form
Wrapped with light
as with a wedding gown
Dressed up in sunshine
your beauty overwhelms me
For yours is all goodness
and truly yours is an outraying
of all the good things in life

Page by page
and line upon line
Mysteries are unravelled
And secrets unveiled
As we behold each other
both naked and unashamed
bone of my bone
and flesh of my flesh
My love my wife my life

The War Within

The joys and pleasures of drinking
Having been asleep and submerged
Re-awakened and buoyed up
As a herald of the great war within
Never ceasing but ravaging my soul
A wave tossed to and fro
by winds of wisdom and foolishness

Tipsy and drowsy I stumbled
fell and broken, snared and taken
Bruised on my forehead and left eye
A public display of folishness and blindness
With no soundness in my head
But wounds, bruises and putrefying sores

My lofty looks were humbled
and my haughtiness bowed down
Instead of a sweet smell,
there is a stench
And in the place of a rich robe
a girding of a sackcloth
An honourable man famished
and his multitudes dried up

It is not for kings to drink wine
nor for rulers to desire strong drink
lest they drink and go astray
and the sheep be without a shepherd
I am a king and a priest
for the display of the manifold wisdom
Not perverseness and foolishness

Sons of Africa

Amid disquieting dreams in the night
When deep sleep fell on all men
And it seemed,
Africa will be forever in a deep slumber
In the deep shadow of the deepest night
A vision was secretly brought to me
My eyes caught a glimpse of a splendorous future
Of the sun risen upon Africa
And the new dawn in all beauty and splendour
Spreading upon her mountains and valleys

Hey you sons of Africa
Why stand by the sideways
And like spectators watch
The corruption that is in Africa
Let the morning get up
And the dawn begin the work
Take Africa by the edges
And shake the wickedness of night out
Bring everything to light
Reveal all the colours and shapes
Snatch away from the wicked leaders
Their cover of darkness
Fold like a garment and put away
The old Africa and her deeds

Where Is the Man

His speech was smooth
And his words more soothing
Sweet to her ears
But at the end it was tears
Her chest ripped open
And her heart lay bare
Left in a pool of blood
May you dip a stick
And delve into the depth
Measure the deep
See how deep is the pain
A very great suffering

Where is the man who loves his wife
Just as Christ does for the church
where is the man who is a leader
The way Christ is to his church
Where is the man who adorns his woman
Bringing into an array the beauty of a woman

The Greatest Robbery

A very common and gruesome kind is a robbery
With the plunder in a grave at the cemetery
When the robbed mourn for the robber
Instead of baying for his blood they cry
for she is no more
And now they are gathered to pay last respects
To the loved one the greatest robber
In that day lamenting and mourning
For the fruit which has been plucked out
Forever removed from the garden of the future
What was meant to be was never to be
As the ground has been made barren
And with the seed in its sprouting dried and dead

The fruit that was to heal many
And cause light to dawn in their darkness
Was never to be harvested
But in its embryonic stage was located beyond
Never to be found and never to be
For our sun set and our moon withdrew herself
And in the fullest flowering of an insane modus operandi
Coming to a shuddering crescendo of an appalling crime
Of thoughtless robbery,
Withholding her light she left us groping
And in darkness we stumbled
For our loved one in committing suicide
She robbed the world
Our loved one the greatest robber

Why have you become barren
And refusing to bear the fruit
Why is your lamp off
And refusing to give the light
Why tell me why
Why do we rob the world

The Great Bank

Awesome with imperishable returns
Is an investment in a great bank
Located within
not in the world but deep inside
Where meditations are cash deposits
And a tongue the pen of a bank teller

Like clouds located within
not up in the sky but deep inside
where meditations are water vapors
and spoken words the condensation
and when clouds be full they empty
a great downpour into your world

How wonderful and awesome
is the great bank
How beautiful and glorious
are the investments thereof
The heart of man full of true riches
which is the imperishable money
The ever living and eduring word

In Memory of Sherpherd

Oh, how I remember my great friend
My heart laments for Shepherd, like a harp
and my innermost being, for his life
For I have looked and I have seen
I beheld with my own eyes
In Shepherd a.k.a Mshepo
A glimpse of a light so great
Yes the promise,
of exceedingly better things to come

In the days apportioned us together
I looked at the garden that was Mshepo
and perceived in my heart
A fertile and fruitful field
That was to be accounted as forest
And whose fruits,
Are for the prosperity of this nation

In this day of adversity
we are drenched with tears
And our shouts of joy stilled
For all the sons we've lost
Who were like chaff in a whirlwind
all wiped away in a moment

The fat of our nations is wasting away
The waters are drying up
the grass is withering
and the vegetation is scorched
and soon nothing green will be left
Now with this I cousel you
Let us all come unto Christ
Our refuge from the storm

Moments In Pain

I remember the days
Swifter than Usain Bolt
When they skimmed past
Without a glimpse of joy
The moments in pain
When a thick cloud
Settled over my dream
And deep darkness
Swallowed up my vision

It is of moments in my life
When pain was rife
With no peep of brightness
But the deep of darkness
Of my moments in pain
When my life was pale
With no glimpse of dawn
But bounds of downs
