Sinner Sinner

Sinner sinner broken man wakes up every hour.
Forgiveness in the silence sought, his serenity his power.

While all may see a stoic face he is filled with cracks.
Poison seeping to his heart until it's worthless black.

Fighting every movement made, up river in a storm.
Hard lights casting, shadows long, recognize the form.

Long forgotten, never lost, just buried down below.
A fire building in his heart a love begins to show.

A peace, a calm, place to belong; Welcome one and all.
A heavy burden lifted up, until he feels the fall.

Alarm begins to blare so loud, in darkness wake again.
Only in dreams he'll find relief, in life you never win.

A Year

A year approaches day by day.
I miss you more than I'd dare say.

The first time that I held you close.
Knew it was you I'd love the most.

Time stood still, so long awaited.
Promise the world, nothing traded.

One month, I spent with you each day.
Our life I saw, for this I prayed.

To spend a thousand more with you.
Summer's blossom, "Winter's fondue"

Your happiness, I tried my best.
Regret delays, a simple test.

Two days to go, sweet words they stopped.
A song forgotten, feelings dropped?

Miles in silence, what awaits?
I'd drive it twice to see your face.

A quick hello, no joy is found.
Sinking feelings, no love around.

Bad news delivered, heart does break.
The choice to leave, was yours to make.

A blur of pain is all that's left.
You took my heart, but not a theft.

So empty now, my life does seem.
Feelings you spoke, what does that mean?

I'll never know if yours were true..
But always and ever I will..

Love you..

A Broken Hearts Prayer

If love is not a fight, then why am I left bleeding?
As she walked away, to deaf ears I kept pleading.
How many times did she say, what I recognize as lies.
Reciprocate her promises, believed her alibis.

After all these things were said and done, I left her with a kiss.
I said "I will not talk to you", but trust me that I miss.
All the moments that we shared and laughed. My year all filled with love.
Now I'm left alone again, so pray to God above.

"Help me find upon this earth, of seven billion souls."
"The one that fits me perfectly, together we'll grow old"
"The pain all others put me through, be nothing but a glimpse"
"The happiness that I deserve, I'll be her broken Prince"

"Just don't misunderstand, for what it is I ask"
"I'm not looking for perfection, but an ever simpler task.."

"I pray for hope, to find one day"
"Not just love.. but for 'True Love', I pray..."

Six Thousand Miles

Whispering lies that tickle my ears.
I told you I loved you, you tell me your fears.
A life filled with sadness, but now a new start.
I pledge my commitment, you're subtlety an art.
Dance around issues, I listen you speak.
You see it as weakness, when only I'm meek.

I ask if you're ready, you give me a promise.
I sense the lies hiding, you tell me you're honest.

I ignored my gut feeling, my greatest regret.
A country to cross, I start feeling the threat.
You stopped saying those words, unsettling fear.
You say we have to talk, as I'm growing ever near.
I changed my whole life, only hours away.
A city cast in shadow, as you broke off that day.
Mistakes floating in air, no blame to be cast.
Your lies fill my dreams, no forgetting the past.

Two weeks and you're gone, one more week I can't stay.
My soul and my heart were ripped from me that day.

A shell of the man that I used to be.
Drove back across mountains seeing all I could see.

But nothing compared to the beauty of your smile.
It's all I could think, mile after mile.

I thought I was lucky for the time we shared.
But of course it's a curse, dreaming what isn't there.

A tragedy it's clear, the lies I was told.
A heart so empty, your love only cold.

Abusive and cruel, you feared what would change.
I would see you, "the truth", I would leave just the same.

So return to the pain, you swore he meant nothing.
A cheater, with lies, all along you'd been bluffing.

So every night as I write, you sleep peaceful in bed.
But of course I can't sleep, you're rent free in my head.

Terminal 1

One year ago today.. Almost to the
minute.. I was happier than I've ever been.

I was holding in my arms the only person
I've ever been truly happy with.

And everyday since I've thought the same
thing..

I should of never let go.

Sleepless Dreams

Some nights, no sleep, I lay awake, I still feel like I'm dreaming. In darkened rooms, I slip away, my soul and heart start scheming.
Your face, a thought, as I get lost in memories of our past. Smile and sigh, no worries or lies, I know it will not last.
For daylight brings, the truth it seems, no more fantasies awake. Reality shows, coldness grows, the morning my heart does break.
Throughout the day, I'll ponder or pray of happy times ahead. But soon as darkness comes again, sleepless dreams within my bed.

In Dreams

I'm too sad to sleep.
Too tired to cry.
Too fearful to leap.
Too heavy to fly.
Too happy in dreams.
Too wasted to care.
Too worthless it seems.
Too filled with despair.

Too stuck in the past.
"Live in the present!"
All moving too fast.
Never been pleasant.
So now I must go.
The future it seems.
"I'll meet you again"
But only in dreams..
