Why Can'T You Just Love Me

"Why can't you Love just me”

Treated like a possession
Placed far upon a shelf
Time stands still when you’re high, dark, deep
And out of reach

Fueled by white lies
You challenge me
Dangerous false securities
Scatter on concrete

My silence demanded
Bound and broken before I speak
Tricked into watching other worldly goods make you feel complete

Your magnetic energy draws on me
My needs forsaken and courage falls beneath

Within your perfect circle I have a seat
A fake display of warm affection presented neat
Still sharp, jagged edges cut me deep
Made to feel less, mild, and meek
A down turn indeed

Justifiable crucification of my emotions and mind
Swallow and consuming thee
Our journey together will never complete

Goodbye my love, for I cannot honor we
I hope your conscious burns slow and deep
Every time you reach for me-

Ode To Drugs

Ode to Drugs
People are you there? Tell ‘em to care!
Beggars and thieves covered by night
Did you do it for spite?
Crack head crying on the corner, run to the church run
Are you spun?
Cocaine man, does it sting? Does the weed make your cough sing?
Feel the bite, hold the smoke tight
Hail to the king, give him your life
Get your pills, just over the hill
Another pipe ride to the sky
Pray, Pain, Pride
Heroine high, run it dry
Alcohol lies, a crowd dies
Fight ye conscious, Fight right
Crawl out from the dark side
Meth head running by, witness many births of light?
Scream for sight
Gather up the kids, call your wife
Look down, beneath, and behind
Purple storm, glowing acid flight
A silent kite drifts light
To the gone, treat and trick
Is your numbness now complete?
Remember the pain, mistress deep
Look at the sand, remember the land
Let go, don’t hold a stormy oceans hand.

Stupid Me

To let you go,hurts bad
Alone at a loss, I let you come back
Sadly regret letting you stay
Time after time it turns out the same
Trying to figure out why Im still here
Im burnt to the ground cold no fear
Starting over I forget how
Doubtful and insecure of every move
My mood and conscious stay unsoothed
Sleep the only blessed event
Wish for dead please get him out of my head
Even though its for the best
Seems to remain a constant test
Alone versus treated bad
Changes in a second. wish I was glad

Lies

Why do people lie? Cause it is easier than telling the truth

My Other Friends

My Other Friends
Never knew cruel could be so mean
Never knew horror would get so mad
Never knew sorrow till I felt a gasp
Never knew shock till I stood outside myself
Never knew life could be this bad
Never knew sad till after bad
Never knew death till he stole my family in a glance
Never knew loneliness till after death
Never knew about loss till a memory came rushing back
Never met hate, held out for rage
Never felt ashamed till I released rage
Never let go of hope found out we didn’t float, courage had my raft waiting for him and humor to bring it back
Never knew danger had a life long standing invitation
Never knew love could be so blue, orange and yellow were always so cool
Never called materialistic, she showed up with optimism
Never saw jealousy standing outside waiting grabbed humble and we did a double
Never got too much of grief till he showed up with a suitcase and stood in his briefs
Never knew boring come with a warning
Never knew appreciation could be so forgotten
Never knew dreams could finally come true but with nightmare's manners
Never knew the addictions just want to gloat and talk about pity
Never knew pride could live close bye and never visit

Gratitude

My son, the strength you possess amazes me
Invincible, a man at sixteen, my babies driving me
Smart and talented, your expression gives away your honesty
A blessing I believe
I pray god watches over you, with a mother’s hand
If need be
Your path will fall on heartbreak, a troubled man with pain and grief
I would endure for thee
Don’t dance with demons
They bring on a system that traps even with a plea
Work hard, lend a hand,
Please always dream that’s key
Don’t take abuse, walk past your enemies
Let it be
Sorry if I’ve let you down
Humans sometimes fail miserably
You are a wonderful person, feel confident with ease
God will pay the fee
Be happy, you’re strong unfortunately
You’re sharp, I’m proud to call you family
Sorrow for your growth, I weep happily
Just know throughout life’s journey
You are loved deeply-

New Love

Nervous night
Fluttering sight
The world looks anew

Crisp air holds electric shock
A smile breaks through

Time suspended in a glow
Eyes wide open
Breath slow

Seeking out the unknown
Caution gone swift
Tingle, touch, terror abyss

Brave fashion stirred by passion
Falling in together
Dream able pleasure

Excitement dies with youth
Like a dove singing at dawn
Memorable treasure
In loves truth.

Good Bye To Love

Put down and lies, jokes can be unkind
Focused on flaws, you pull out your claws
I bit off more than I could chew

I feel the pain, in my veins
Your love slowly killing me over time
Try after try, mistakes and lies
Damn pride, your love feels forced and tried

My heart aches, both broken and bruised,
Shattered lives led fuzzy, and confused
Who’s the joker? Who’s the fool?
I’m in love with nothing anymore because of you

Do I deserve more?
What am I fighting for? Is this a payment for my crimes?
Going through the motions, void of emotion
Settled comfortably in loneliness beside you

It’s all been said
Were both dead
Goodbye to the last of love left for you

Coldness I cry, I hope I’m alive
I prefer numb over blue
Living this life never feeling loved inside
 I will pray for you

Nicholas T Hawley

Nicholas T. Hawley
I can’t believe a year has passed without you near.
A harsh year without your smile only replaced by tears
No one truly knows why you ended your life, alone in a jail cell late at night.
I thought you to be safety tucked just away in prison
You hung yourself with no one present
You were a child I loved, I could of helped make things right.
The loss I feel without you a heavy presence on my mind.
Sitting at the gravesite feels cold and unkind.
What I wouldn’t give to hear your voice one last time.
To touch your hand in reassurance where you stand
To let you know how much I care.

Damaged Devil

Damaged Devil
Conscious bears witness to time gone by
Goodness changes seasons, nature turning naughty by firelight
Night holds close the empty precious tries
Hallow woods, wind cries, reality a reaction of the mind
A baby’s first breathe alive on the outside
A breeze opens a tree revealing a purple sky
Drink dared dreams a soul consumed dies
Follow thy plight evils lusting underlie
Damaged devil walk the wind
Bid work wise, work bid time
Hear what is hidden inside
Joker playing poker face laughs silently at pride
Clues lie deep down within messages and signs
A wicked smiling devil calling out, it’s your ride
