Richie Jackson Poem
So, on my stone
“I loved them all”
I was alone
I loved too much
For her, I see
My heart did fall
She’s not for me
Nor is her touch
She never knew
At least I think
How my heart grew
As time passed by
Oh how I failed
As ships do sink
That should have sailed
Across the sky
Six feet under
It is my time
Will you wonder,
What went wrong?
Here’s the answer
Here is the rhyme
“Love’s a cancer”
This is my song

Richie Jackson Poem
One lonely, beating heart
A rhythmic, pulsating, hypnotic sound
Draws you into it's misery
Looking to reap discord
In those who don't partake in it's affliction
Have you ever heard the sound of a lonely, beating heart
That is stained with the knowledge of unrequited love
It is the most painful sound one can hear
A sound heard for miles
Heard for years
I hear it
For every breath causes such a heart to resound once more
A ringing throughout my chest, my brain, my ears
For, it is my lonely, beating heart
It is my unrequited love
It is my stain

Richie Jackson Poem
Your icy claws
They clench my soul
The bitter chill
The dead of night
I see no stars
The ones you stole
Were all too real
There is no light
So please let go
I won’t resist
I will not fight
I see your lies
If you say ‘no’
Sweet lips I’ll kiss
I’ll hold you tight
Look in my eyes

Richie Jackson Poem
Step into my world tonight
Feel what I can not say
Relax and let your mind take flight
You will enjoy your stay
Take one step, and it begins
Watch all time disappear
And if you stick with me, my friend
So will doubt and fear
A world of music, lights and love
Dissolving with your mind
Different stars shine bright above
The earth is far behind
What’s seen here can not be explained
So do not even try
Let thoughts pour from the sky like rain
And let your body fly
Eternity will quickly fade
As minutes, though, it seems
And memories that have been made
Will sometimes haunt your dreams
Step into my world my friend
Your stay will not last long
For that which starts, too must end
As night turns into dawn

Richie Jackson Poem
The truly original
Masters of lyrical
Borderline spiritual
Are pieces of art.
The people we meet
Who walk down the street
Who might lie, who might cheat
Are pieces of art
Myself? I am torn
My soul has been worn
My spirit forlorn
You’ve broken my heart
As silence stands still
The way that I feel
Is never too real
Without you here
My heart’s become tough
Like a stone, sharp and rough
If you look close enough
The truth becomes clear
So how can I be,
The pain that is me,
The art that you see?
Your vision I fear

Richie Jackson Poem
Rejections feared
That have come true
My heart’s been seared
Romantic coup
All hopes and dreams
They fade away
Unraveled seams
Begin to fray
Eyes wide open
Still not seeing
Always hopin’
And believing
I will collapse
I fall apart
There’s left no chance
For lonely hearts
When waves crash down
A sight to see
You weren’t around
They crashed on me
The setting sun
It waves goodbye
You were the one
That made me cry

Richie Jackson Poem
My paper heart stopped beating today.
No warning.
The wrinkled edges stopped breathing.
Too many wholes punched through
Worn too thin
The blood that once flowed through it…
Like color to the painter
Melody to the musician
The artist’s painting dries
The musician’s rhythm eventually slows

Richie Jackson Poem
I know I’m not the one for you
And you for me
It cannot be
For I know your love is true
And now I see
It’s not for me
I cannot fall in love again
The words I spoke
The heart she broke
You are more than just a friend
But so was she
She set me free
Tell me now what do I do
Can’t stop the pain
The pouring rain
My thoughts now are all on you
They will not leave
The more I breathe

Richie Jackson Poem
Penetrating is the stare
Of one who loves.
Reciprocating mirror;
An endless glance.
Yes I know, I feel it too.
It fills the room.
Hearts start beating in rhythm.
We can not blink.
No moment will be wasted.
No way, not here.
Starting now is forever.
Ending never.
Nor will my heart ever fade
Your eyes shine bright
Like the end of a tunnel
Filled with despair
You saved me, not once but twice
Once just right now
Also the first time we met
You gave me hope
No, I cannot look away
Please don’t make me

Richie Jackson Poem
A light in freezing cold
A heat amidst the night
Confusion enshrouds all I'm told
Without warmth or sight
You may know but not behold
Look, but mustn't touch
Too many souls already sold
To those who practice such
To have a want that's not fulfilled
Except through those despised
I wonder why I've not yet killed
And who is on whose side
My heart, in pain and aching
While his endures, unscathed
My sleepless dreams are waking
his stagnant sleep remains
The quiet beast that shall arise
Awake to take my Soul
This will not be my demise
Because with Him I'm whole
