Epitaph

Epitaph

Here lies a love that never was,
Tis one will never be
At the start she had my heart
The wretched artery

I pledged undying union
With ceaseless trust I gave
All that I lost was shed and tossed
Into this cursed grave

I yearned not for her silken kiss
Nor angelic touch
Her love was pure, I felt secure
And love went on as such

I happed’ upon my darling girl
Swollen love within my breast
But alas, it came to pass
Another warmed my nest

I fell into a blinding rant
And hurled myself between
The evil crone and love, mine own,
My rage the deepest green.

The sassy tart, she claimed surprise
As I declared her crime.
But , guess my pet, that I would get
Revenge, the most sublime

I knew I needed something ill
To reconcile my pain
Denied my lust, I stewed and fussed
But not, my friend, in vain

I found a dagger in a drawer
Adorned with faithful rust
I scorned and schemed as yet I dreamed
Her bodice scarlet crust

I found her in the garden
Befriended by her guilt
A single shiver, as fate delivered
Her penance to the hilt

I saw her eyes lose luster
Her pretty smile to fade
And there indeed I watched her bleed
And left my love, betrayed.

Here I find my sorrowed soul
Withering near, above
Twas passion mine, a poisoned wine
Goodnight my tortured love.

Reckless

Our love is reckless…
Like a car that drives too fast
What a thrill to speed behind the wheel
But this too, shall pass.

And where will that leave us
On the edge of all we knew
I’ve bared my soul, I’ve stripped it down
What the hell else can I do?

I can’t hold you any longer…
I can’t look into your eyes and lie again.
And this pain is getting stronger
My swollen heart just won’t pretend

Unbearable silence
When you look into my eyes
You feel so cold, but still you hold
Onto all our sad goodbyes…

Lukes Lullaby

Go to sleep...little boy
when you wake, night will be gone
don't you fret, no more tears
just listen to my song

dream of ice cream cones and lollipops
bright red fire trucks and spinning tops
and a carousel that never stops
and may all your dreams come true

dream of dinosaurs and sailing ships
frosted candy canes and chocolate chips
dream of mommy's kisses on your lips
happy ,happy dreams to you

close your eyes, love of mine
close your eyes and drift away
may the lord guide your dreams
by your side he will always stay

dream of rocket ships and shooting stars
magic carpet rides and lands afar
and remember wherever you are
that is where I'll be too

dream of dinosaurs and sailing ships
frosted candy canes and chocolate chips
dream of mommy's kisses on your lips

happy happy dreams to you.

Lovesong

Give me a break.
Stand there smiling, like it’s easy
As I bash my head against the wall
And the world is caving in on me
Through the blood in my eyes it’s hard to see
How much farther can I fall?

God, let me breathe
I can’t bear this cage you’ve built for me
My stubborn heart is bleeding and blind
and you just keep talking without sound
your simple empty words crash down
and echo in my mind.

I promise you my pretty love…
I was only joking.
I didn’t mean your killing me
But I can feel the sky fall
down on my head.

And pretty baby, please forgive me
I just get vicious when I’m strangling
I don’t want to fight tonight
Let’s drop the pretense and play
With real knives instead.

Where do we go after we stop here
Do not pass go, do not collect your sanity.
Criticize and patronize
But God, don’t change your mind.

I promise you, my pretty love
I was only joking.
I didn’t mean your killing me
But I can feel the sky fall
down on my head.

And pretty baby, please forgive me
I just get vicious when I’m strangling
I don’t want to fight tonight
Let’s drop the pretense and play
With real knives instead.

But God, don’t change your mind.
I promise you my pretty love…
I was only joking.
I didn’t mean your killing me
But I can feel the sky falling
on my head.

And pretty baby, please forgive me
I just get vicious when I’m strangling
I don’t want to fight tonight
Let’s drop the pretense and play
With real knives instead.

First I’m right and then I’m wrong
A thousand times I’ve heard this song.
You say it’s fine
But I can see the nothing in your eyes.

I promise you my pretty love…
I was only joking.
I didn’t mean your killing me
But I can feel the sky falling
on my head.

And pretty baby, please forgive me
I just get vicious when I’m strangling
I don’t want to fight tonight
Let’s drop the pretense and play
With real knives instead.

First I’m wrong and then I’m right
I’d rather die than fight tonight.
And yeah, I know
It’s nothing, nothing, nothing
Once again.

Nameless Poem

Pain comes creeping in on little cat’s feet
Silent like the night it falls
floating on butterflies - that dance eerily through
shattered visions know only as my childhood

Thoughts tumble, like
a tornado of misspoken words
deep sobs echo
losing their way,
resonating within

Mercilessly tired eyes
cry rivers of pain
The shadows of a hundred days
lost sleep

despite my heart
the silence
breaks in
and I embrace the dark and
jagged shards.

Desolation,
Isolation
pulls towards me
encompassing
my inner self
to ask, yet again
who am I?

Spiraling
screaming
for acceptance
culminating in expression
beyond the waves
searching the deepest chasms
of this soul’s long journey

Hope does not show her face
and It rains on the carnival
And all the pretty horses run together
into silence
forever lost
overwhelmed with
self grief.

Hope waits within expectation
testing the faith
empowering my soul
and I breathe.
Deeply, fulfilling myself,
for today…

Realization

Realization-

Pain comes creeping in on little cat’s feet
Through memories that haunt and flow
flow, infringe on butterflies - that dance eerily
shattering visions know only as childhood,

Thoughts tumble, like
a tornado of mispoken words
deep sobs echo
losing their way
and resonate within

Mercilessly
tired eyes cry
rivers of pain
The shadows of a hundred days
Lost sleep

despite my heart
The silence
breaks in
And I embrace the dark and
jagged shards.

Desolation
Isolation
pulls towards me
encompassing
my inner self
To ask again
Who am I?

Spiraling
screaming
for acceptance
culminating in expression
beyond the waves
searching the deepest chasms
of this life’s journey

Hope does not show her face
It rains on the carnival
And all the pretty colors run together
just silence
forever lost
overwhelmed with
self grief.

Hope waits within expectation
testing the faith
empowering my soul
and I breathe.
Deeply, fulfilling myself,
for today
I am.
