Katelyn Ordway Poem
Mommy stopped hugging
And replaced it with hitting
Mommy stopped loving
And replaced it with drinking
Mommy stopped cooking
And replaced it with sex
Mommy stopped being mommy
And I did instead

Katelyn Ordway Poem
"Daddy Please Come home"
Out this hard wood windowsill the ground is hard and raw. The dust does not bellow and the rocks do not stir. The night casts a dark black shadow on the valley of dirt and grass ahead. The moon and the stars do not shine, they are trying, but the perfect white clouds over take them. The trees do not sway to the rhythm of the wind, as it is nonexistent in this moment. The people in their houses surrounding this one do not come and they do not go. The silence of the darkness sends a hush shivering up the road were we wish that one person would make his way; and as the silence increases longing creeps into the life of the atmosphere.

A Poem, Please

Katelyn Ordway Poem
Lie to me,
Tell me you care,
Say that you love me,
That you’ll always be here.
Lie to me,
Play the game,
Do the dance,
Have no shame.
Lie to me,
Make me believe,
Make me fall,
Make me never leave.
But when my feelings fall from my eyes,
And my breath speaks the truth,
I did not need your lies,
I saw your real truths.
Your dance did not work,
And your game was not well played,
Because even without it all,
My life you still saved.

Katelyn Ordway Poem
Eyes tell stories,
Of love and loss,
Of pain and sorrow,
And of a pasts hidden in the crevasses of who we are.
Eyes tell one what we need to know,
What we want to know,
And things we never thought we could know about ourselves.
But when we look into the eyes around us,
This is not what we see.
When we look into the eyes around us,
We see blue oceans, and brown fields
Surrounded by white skies.
We see beauty or hatred,
But we never see the truths and the stories.
When you look into my eyes do you see the reasons to the pain I feel daily?
When you look into your mother or fathers eyes do you see the story of how their love came to be?
When you look into the prisoners eyes do you see a scared little boy who doesn’t want to be hit anymore.
When you look into the eyes of the cheerleader do you see her father screaming at her to be better and do better.
When you look into the eyes of the doctor do you see the patient that he just lost.
When you look into your eyes to do you see the reason you refuse to love, loss, and trust.
Eyes tell us stories and truths.
They tell of hidden secrets,
And unknown pasts,
They give away the secrets to who are, and who we will become.
But all we see are blue oceans and brown fields surrounded by white skies.
We see beauty or hatred,
But we never see the truths and the stories.

Katelyn Ordway Poem
A smile on my face
But tears held back
Inside of me
Sadness attacks.
A happy façade
But unhappy sigh
Everyone says
Big girls don’t cry
So I put on my smile
And hold in the tears
That’s how it’s been
Throughout all the years

Katelyn Ordway Poem
Teardrops run down,
each and every night,
and as i drown,
my life moves out of sight.
Teardrops surround me,
from wall to wall,
forming a sea,
of downfall.
Teardrops bleed out,
of my hurting heart,
I can figure out,
why I’m falling apart.
Teardrops seep through,
my soft skin,
if i could only have a re-do,
I'd re-do my sin.
Each teardrop stings,
and as i whisper good bye,
comes on the daily feelings,
of i just want to die.

Katelyn Ordway Poem
Murderers
We are all murderers,
We take our nooses
And hang our personalities.
You take a gun
And blow a hole through what I do
I take my knives
And shred your intelligence.
He takes her dreams
And drowns them.
She takes everything that he’s become
And burries it alive.
We take everything we hope to do
And cutt it off,
Leaving it no hope of survivng.
You take my persona
And build it up,
Just to knock it down.
I take my razors
And watch your feelings,
Trickle out of your throat.
This is who we all are.
