A Limerick

"There was a small girl of Salt Lake,
   Who constantly watched people bake.
   But one day it did matter,
   She fell in the batter;
   So now there was a lump in the cake."

God's Little Secret a Poem For Baby Mason

Heaven's sweetest angel, has finally arrived.
 God held you in His loving arms, 'til He was satisfied.
 Into your little face He looked, before He let you go;
 And whispered something in your ear,
 That only you would know:
'A prayer I have answered, I've heard it day and night;
 It's a wish that has been uttered,
 With all of someone's might.
 A mommy and a daddy, have asked me for a son,
 And it's you that I have chosen
 To be their little one.

 On the very day you get there,
 Their hearts will fill with joy
 To know that I have sent them,
 This precious baby boy'.
 He kissed you on your little cheek, and sent you on your way,
 Into the waiting arms of Love...
 Where you will always stay."

I Saw It From the Harbor- Lady Liberty's Reflections

"I saw it from the Harbor-
        On that clear September morn,
        As the freedom of my people
        Became tested, tried, and torn.
        The hands of foreign strangers,
        Full of hatred for these shores,
        Brought down terror and destruction
        On my patrons by the scores.

        I saw it from the Harbor-
        As the gleaming pillars, tall
        Engulfed in orange flames and fuel,
        Slowly sway, and finally fall.
        Throngs of people ran for safety,
        Not knowing where to go.
        I watched in silent horror,
        That macabre and tragic show.

        I saw it from the Harbor-
        All the panic and despair,
        All the sadness and confusion,
        Devastation everywhere.
        The peacefulness was shattered,
        As the chaos reigned supreme.
        For the moment trust and faith of man
        Just could not be redeemed.

        I saw it from the Harbor-
        As the rubble and debris,
        Mixed with ashes, smoke, and human tears,
        Stretched forever- endlessly.
        The echoes of the sirens
        Pierced the solemn atmosphere.
        In the quiet of the city,
        Wails of mourning I could hear.

        I saw it from the Harbor-
        An unwavering brotherhood,
        Rise up above the heartache,
        And prove Evil dies to Good.
        Compassion conquered over grief,
        And Love shone brighter still,
        As the heroes of my city
        Gave their heart, and soul, and will.

        I see it from the Harbor-
        Each and every passing year,
        People come from the World over
        To reflect, and shed a tear.
        The memories of that fateful day
        Ring vivid everywhere.
        From the Harbor now, I cannot see
        The towers that were there.

        I see it from the Harbor-
        On this 'Anniversary Ten',
        The pride of New York City,
        Is as strong as it was then.
        For all people come together,
        Which means so much more to me,
        As I stand in quiet vigil
        With this meaning: 'Liberty'."

True Or False: a Little Teaser

Here's something for you,
 To guess if it's true.
 About little old me,
 Just wait, and you'll see:
 On my dream wedding day,
 I went out of my way,
 To bid an adieu
 To my lover so true.
 The problem with this?
 It took one simple kiss,
 From that gentleman friend...
 For my wedding to end.

Morning Delights

"The breeze outside the window,
    Bids me a cheerful day;
    The soft rustling of leaves in the treetops,
    Has many a thing to say:
   'The dark, dreary night is over,
    The stars 'gainst the velvety drape,
    Have all faded back in the twilight;
    Dark horizon the sun now does break'.
    The birds in their perches are waking,
    Beginning their day with a song;
    A chorus of chirping commences,
    And lasts all the whole day long!

    The dew on the grass, how it glistens!
    As the rays of the sun burst so bright.
    Tiny beads on the flowers do sparkle,
    Like the jewels of a crown, what a sight!
    The aroma of morning does linger,
    In the air, on the breeze, oh so sweet;
    It silently sneaks through the window,
    Like the quietest, cleverest thief.
    The day has come into being,
    This much, I know can be said.
    Though the World itself now is awakening,
    I turn over, and go back to bed."
