Denariel Benn Poem
The trees rustle as the great wind howls.
The shore is attacked by mountain-sized waves crash upon the sand.
Soon, night comes along as the sun takes a rest, and everything is quiet and still.
The mighty wind relaxes an the trees are no longer afraid.
Mellow are the waves for they are absent of anger and pain but full with peace
and happiness.
The Universe\'s moon gleams and grins high in the sky.
The Earth is silent and beautiful again;
We shall not be hurt anymore for the Earth is pure of pain.
We shall not cry again for the Earth is lost of sorrow.
We shall not fight again for the Earth is free from hate and resentment.
We become one just as the Moon, the sun, the waves, and the wind.
We become one like the Earth.

Denariel Benn Poem
Torn homes
Lost lives
No hope
No Faith
Crying babies
People Dying
No Food
No water
No protection
But Somewhere, on light burns
Somewhere, one star shines bright
Someday, we will find them
Someday, things will change
And someday, we will survive.
Dedicated to Vicitms of Huricane Katrina

Denariel Benn Poem
The road is long, hard, cold
but we live on.
We look to the light that shines somewhere in the sky.
Even though our feet hurt, our bodies tired,
we focus on our dream.
We come from poor sounds of life and disgraceful spots in his eyes,
but with hope and time, our songs can be heavenly and our spots will no longer
be blotches in society.
Our travel soon comes to an end
when we reach the Lady Liberty, The Empire State building, The Twin Towers
again, The Liberty Bell and him.
Our travel may endure pain, but we will reach that great light at the end of the
tunnel,
and our songs will always be sung.

Denariel Benn Poem
Hold on steady
Hold on tight
Hush little baby
It will be alright
I know your scared
I know your worried
Don't be afraid
I'll be there in a hurry
So lay your head
Upon your pillow
Rest your body
Mind, spirit, and soul
Tonight, you're here
Tomorrow gone
But I will continue
To sing your lovely song
Dedicated to Baby Kayla

Denariel Benn Poem
The color is so bright and warm, nothing can penetrate deeper than its own
I love its grace and charm, when the others are too far from home.
People do not understand what it between us, the seem confused
But I know what is real and there, it seems to be you.
You surround me in happiness and joy holding me in the presence of light
Til the death comes and takes over through the many hours of the night.
You are constant and willing to accept when no one else will
Of course you are, you cannot judge, you too are alone still.
You never fade and come in different forms of hope
With the problems I face, you, the one who helps me cope.
We are the same, a mix between two beautiful things
I dash of hope and the eternal happiness springs.
The color is so bright and warm, nothing can penetrate deeper than its own
I love its grace and charm, when the others are too far from home.

Denariel Benn Poem
I look out my window
And stare at the moon
And look at it high in the sky
I look at it and think
Ponder away
And ask the question, Why?
Why do sleep?
Why do we rise?
Just like the moon and the sun
Why can't we stay like kids
Be children
And just have fun?
Why do we die?
Why are we born?
And why do we come to be?
I think to myself
I say to myself
The answer starts with me.

Denariel Benn Poem
When you look at me, what do you see?
When I look I see doubt, shame, fear.
I may seem like the nice person,
the fun person,
the popular girl,
the loud, proud person.
But deep down, I'm mean, boring, an outcast, silent, unworthy person.
I can't think.
I shudder from the rest.
I hide, but you can always see me.
Sometimes I try to run, but you always catch me.
I can't hold it anymore.
I want to be normal, I want to be free.
