Two Hearts

In the darkness two hearts did find one another.
Intertwined with passion and desire.
They wished the dawn would never break and end this lustful affair.
For at night they danced their own design.
Can two hearts beat as one?
Can souls not see each other beyond these fleshy prisons,
Or these walls we build to keep evil from our doors?
Truly brave are those who love without fear or bounds.
Only the jealous few would stand between the soul's desire.
Our own wants and needs are dashed by another's cowardice.
So the lovers in the night can only be together when the sun goes to sleep.
Can we not shape and mold our own future?
For if left to fate alone, I truly dread what lay in store.
There is left but one small spark of hope,
It is found with two hearts, dancing in the dark.

Prayer

My life is filled with forever tomorrows.
I fight against crippling fears and sorrows.
Out of the darkness, I pray for hope.
Please God, give me the strength to cope, let my life be uncomplex.
Please God, help me stand strong against my fear.
Give me the wisdom to do whats right, and the power to fight the good fight.
Please God, let me love only my son, let no man disrupt my life again.

The Devil

The Devil whispers promises soo sweet into my ever tender ear. Gifts I should accept without the smallest bit of fear. My hearts secret most desires because his silver tounge knows just what i want to hear. His hot breath makes me quiver. His touch could make me a sinner. God keep the Devil at bay. Cleans me of evil dreams. Kill my passion. Kill my fire. Keep me from the Devils bed. Where my demons lay. Please lock up the beast thats speaks to me in the dark. His raw passion and power could claim my heart and soul and make me loose control. Oh God why does being bad feel so damn good?

Again

I walk between the shadows of this world and the next.
Hoping for love in different faces, in different places.
Only feeling bitterness and regret.
For the love I once had that no other can replace,
What I wouldn't give to stare upon your face.
Into my dreams you hide in wait, only to remind me of what neither of us could escape.
Although we may have tried, no other could provide what we knew was our's alone.
No one could suffice, and for years they have paid that price.
I can no longer fight what I have known was meant to be.
This lie that I have been living, has left me broken and bleeding.
I will have what I once did, and all be damned whom would stand between my dreams.

Battle

Let the battle begin!
One side light one side dark,
The battle ground is Earth.
Will evil win?
Or will good prevail?
They fight for us,
One to save.
One to control.
Who will take your immortal soul?
Will you fight the good fight?
Or give in to brimstone and fire?
Tick tock, tick tock, beware the final hour.
Once the hammer falls, this world they will devour.
Where do you stand?
Choose a side,
Sooner or later we will all die.
But be wise,
After this life you may be surprised.
You either find love, joy and light.
Or be thrown into the horrors of endless pain and night.
And the battle begins...

Never There

How far would I go,
Just to find peace for my soul?
I wander here and there,
I feel as though I have been every where.
Too restless to stay, too sad to go.
Could some one please show me what I am looking for?
I find things to love in every place I live.
But none of them compare to the feeling of home.
I used to feel that way when I waded in the rivers back west.
I felt that way in the heat so very far south.
But the feeling never stays long,
And before you know it I am gone again.
I once felt safe, and happy.
In a house some would say was shabby.
But it was the man inside the walls that made it feel warm and inviting.
His eyes where blue like the ocean,
I still feel my heart is broken.
Because I left even him,
This cycle I cannot break.
If only I could just stay in one place.
And now my nightmares remind me of whose face I ache for.
Please, God, tell me what I am searching for?
Why do I keep losing the ones I love?
Why can I not be content with what I have?
Instead I wander,
Never knowing why or where.
But no matter what I do, or where I go,
You are never there.

Things That Can Never Be

Take me back to that place I once knew.
Take me back to that place I once grew.
My heart is bleeding for the things that can never be.
I cry silent tears for the life that can never be.
Although my life continues, it seems I am frozen in a time when I was free to be me.
Free to feel, free to love, free to express everything that made me who I was.
I am a ghost, forever will I never finish what was so wonderful.
My untold story will be my greatest sorrow.
I am no longer that girl you once loved.
She died somewhere a long the road she walked so lonely without you.
Missing peice to my soul, but that I guess you will never know.
So on my pillow on cold nights I will weep.
For things that could never be.

The Drums

Thump, thump, thump.
Beware the beating of the drums,
Soon after, death is sure to come.
The Reaper is on his way,
This is not your lucky day.
There is no where to run,
The Reaper leaves no where to hide.
Unfinished business is no concern of his.
Count your blessing, lay all your sins aside.
Beware the beating of the drums,
Because that's when the Reaper comes.
Thump, thump, thump....

Let Go

She was beautiful once,
A glimmer of hope in darkness.
Life devoured her,
No mercy for those with heart.
The world was cruel, and dark.
Hopes and dreams are crushed,
Love is stolen and lost.
So all her faith was replaced by anger.
She hated the world and all that it holds,
Her bitterness she would never let go.
Her beauty became pain,
She resembled nothing of the person she began.
An shell, empty and worn.
Her humanity wasted, gone and torn.
She no longer visited his grave,
Her loss too painful to take.
She lived her life, spiteful and alone.
When she died,
No one came to pay respects.
Because she could never let go.

Humanity

There once was a sparkle in your eyes,
I watched in agony as it slowly faded and died.
Broken down by those around you,
Every kindness could have found you.
Instead the world devoured you.
No remorse or pity for a very unlucky few.
Time passed by and no one thought to see you,
Or about how they mistreated you.
But I could see your soul,
Every color of the rainbow.
If ignorance is bliss, than they can have it.
To never know another's pain,
Or care beyond selfish wants and desires.
What a sad life they must lead.
If they were only to look beyond their pride and greed,
They would see so many faces in dyer need.
Reach out and touch another soul,
Humanity is only a word when you don't live up to it.
