Humanity
There once was a sparkle in your eyes,
I watched in agony as it slowly faded and died.
Broken down by those around you,
Every kindness could have found you.
Instead the world devoured you.
No remorse or pity for a very unlucky few.
Time passed by and no one thought to see you,
Or about how they mistreated you.
But I could see your soul,
Every color of the rainbow.
If ignorance is bliss, than they can have it.
To never know another's pain,
Or care beyond selfish wants and desires.
What a sad life they must lead.
If they were only to look beyond their pride and greed,
They would see so many faces in dyer need.
Reach out and touch another soul,
Humanity is only a word when you don't live up to it.
