Mask

Beauty incarnate
happiness radiates, tears
silently flowing

Amber Flame

Soft amber flame glows
heat engulfs all in its path
in candlelit dreams

Love Unrequited

I gave you my all
the harsh moon cast its shadow
Silence filled the air

Love unrequited
eyes shed tearsdrops of fire
unable to stop

Happy Ending Denied

I'd never felt happier
never felt so at ease
you were my warm winter fire
and my cold summer breeze
my light in the dark
guiding every step of the way
I can't believe you're gone
until we meet again one day.

I know I'll get over you
and carry on like before
I no longer sit feeling blue
waiting for you to walk through the door
to myself I stay true
nursing the heart that you tore
I will search for another you
although there's not one, I am sure

You told me you would wait
but again you lied
you said you'd never leave
and would always be right by my side
you promised you'd get better
well you couldn't have tried
because you left me all alone
my happy ending denied

Unhinged

Unhinged emotion
blinded by uncertainty
sedated for now

My Angel

Maybe you heard me calling you
my silent whispers
echoing in the cold night
Maybe you saw my tears
reflected in an ocean under moonlight
Or felt my fear
through the heat of a flickering flame.

Before you came

I was nothing
but a shadow of a lonely ghost
You came to me
when I needed you the most
No longer sat in the shadows am I
stepped out into light
with my head held high

No longer do I feel alone
for I know now
I am never alone

You are here by my side
you always have been
and always will be
My true friend
My angel

On the Beach

Waves crashed against rock
serenity unfolded
in the pale moonlight

In the Dark

In the dark you wait
for shadows of loved ones past
to show you the light.

My Final Decision

A bottle of pills in one hand
a bottle of whisky in the other
silently staring through the mirror
desperately wishing I was another

secretly waiting for someone
to come through the door and stop me
but my waiting is in vain
seems everyone forgot me

but I know it was me that forgot
forgot my friends, my family, even I
too busy pretending life was ok
far too busy living out this lie

I thought that I could ride it out
I thought that time would soon forget
not forever looking over my shoulder
wondering what next I would regret

well time crept up today and caught me
the clock hands grasped me firm and sure
and all I hear now is my heart, tick tock
as I lay down on the hard cold floor

for this is my final decision
you may call me selfish I don't care
for I cannot undo the sands of time
even if I could I wouldn't dare

so as I bid you all farewell
please don't shed a single tear
please don't hate me or be confused
just know it's for the best my dear.

Love

You wish to know about
the feeling that love brings?
Like a thousand butterflies
with razor blade wings
Or the light stroking of your cheek
from a gentle hand
before it grasps hold of your neck
and fills your throat with sand
The feel of his soft lips upon yours
and the warmth of his breath
asphixating you with his kiss
taking you inches from death.
You want to know about love?
You ask why I am frowning?
The answers are simple for me,
Love is a lot like drowning.
