Ashley Blodgett Poem
Sitting
Waiting
Watching.
The prey has felt no
Fear.
It carries out a form of normalcy.
The predator
Stalks
The prey. This is the moment.
Dead now-
The prey is no longer alive.
Predator wins.
On to the next prey.
On to round two.

Ashley Blodgett Poem
The secret will always remain
Even when the words are spoken they remain
Silent.
Nobody can know what really was said.
How could they possibly
Understand?
A secret within my heart-
Kills.

Ashley Blodgett Poem
To parish would be to gain-
Freedom. Freedom
From that which haunts me.
Not to perish in a physical sense,
No-
That would be pointless.
I must perish mentally.
Kill that which envelops my
Being. Thoughts
Of a bright future,
A better tomorrow,
A new life.

Ashley Blodgett Poem
A facade
Put together to portray a thought,
But what happened to
Reality.
Reality. What is reality?
A reality is what we make it.
But a facade
Is falser still.
Changing daily as we see fit.
What is real?

Ashley Blodgett Poem
Extravagant-
The cries for help
Unheard
Step by step
She walks into the darkness.
Each without a print-
I guess her path will remain
Unknown. Unsure-
Of all the places she would go
How she would get there and
Why.

Ashley Blodgett Poem
Smiles-
On the surface shine so bright,
But rotting within.
The dentist comes and saves
The smile, but leaves a fallacy
Within.
Fake-
Putty packed in to fill the hole, normal now.
Yet never feeling the same.
The tongue slides over
The stranger. Not accepting-
Yet rejection is no option.
Stuck with the fake
Injection, fake happiness,
Fake smiles.

Ashley Blodgett Poem
They sit in a vase-
Beauty meant to be enjoyed,
But at some point they will
Wither.
Now they are just a bulk of brown
Once enjoyed, but now
Pointless.
Petals on the table.
Where is the garbage when you
Need it.

Ashley Blodgett Poem
Gone-
Is the feeling of
Love
Gone-
Is the feeling of
Remorse
Gone-
Is the sense of
Responsibility.
This is the way we wish to
Live.
Carefree!
Oh! How i wish to live as my peers!
Young. Hopeful. Unknowing-
That tomorrow it will be gone.
Seventeen, and feeling
Dead-
Within the soul, and through the mind.

Ashley Blodgett Poem
Feelings-
They cut deep.
Never ending, they seem to envelop my being.
I try to suppress them yet my efforts
Have gone to
Waste.
People can not see them yet-
If they try they, might sense them.
My feelings-
Outrageous. Wonderful. Doomed.
Feelings are not concrete. Therefore neither is my
Being.

Ashley Blodgett Poem
The when.
The where.
The why.
Details make the world go round.
But-
Do we need to know all this.
Anxiety is not the result
Of the unknown, but instead
the result of knowing too much.
I choose to remain unknowing.
Yet knowing so much
More.
