Amber Hurst Poem
Do you ever wish upon a star
That he will find out where you are
Come and find your hiding place
Make your cold heart start to race
Kiss your cold lips, turn them red
Bring your soul back from the dead

Amber Hurst Poem
Smile for every raindrop
That, for others, is a tear
Smile for every moment
That, for some, may seem a year
If you bring joy in others time of pain
One day you might see the rainbow
Come before the rain

Amber Hurst Poem
Why do people live to think
Think about what others think
They sit and think around all day
Letting dreams just pass away
Thinking builds the mind
Just to make it fall
If this is all that thinking does
Why do people think at all

Amber Hurst Poem
Nothing is perfect
And nothing lasts
Forget his promises
Remember the past
The empty words
And guilty glances
And all your mistakes
Taken as chances
Forget what you feel
He doesn’t feel the same
When this is all over
You’ll have only yourself to blame

Amber Hurst Poem
What do you do when you don't want to give up
But it feels like the world stopped trying
And your happiness is somewhere else
And you just can't seem to stop crying
What do you do when you've lost your way
And you don't know what's wrong and right
And you don't want to hurt anyone
But you feel it's worth the fight
What do you do when your heart is breaking
And you've felt no pain like this before
And you know that only pain he offers
Yet you come begging back for more

Amber Hurst Poem
Baa baa black sheep
No one listens to you
You see the truth
No one else sees
You hear the cries
The screams and the pleas
But why why black sheep
Do you weep your eyes away?
They are the ignorant
Heads turned in fear
They are the cowards
That choose not to hear
So bye bye black sheep
Don’t wade in wanted water
They’re lost to reason now
Just sheep at the slaughter

Amber Hurst Poem
Long ago, when I was a child
I ran out of my mothers boundaries, and into the wild
While alone and wandering I saw a blinding light
I looked up and saw an amazing sight
A flaming bird in the sky
Reflecting off the lake
I stared in awe as it flew away
Leaving ashes in its wake
And in my vision, faint fiery rings
I have not seen the creature since that day
But every evening, as I watch the setting sun
I could swear that I see wings

Amber Hurst Poem
I'm just mothers mistake
The one she'll always regret
She tells me everyday
As if she thinks I'll forget
I can’t forget what I’ve always known
I hear the words as her feelings are shown
"I hate you, you’re worthless, and I wish you weren’t mine"
Her words echo in my head, in every space of my mind
"You’re going away, I can’t take you anymore!"
I used to cry to these words
But my eyes have grown sore
"You ruin my life, stop crying, it’s fake!"
And this is just 5 minutes in the life
Of a mothers mistake

Amber Hurst Poem
Let us fall out of what we know
And into what we fear
We want to grasp our dearest joy
But pain is just so near
Change is only temporary
Just like every friend
Though it seems so great at first
It always has its end
