Phoenix
Long ago, when I was a child
I ran out of my mothers boundaries, and into the wild
While alone and wandering I saw a blinding light
I looked up and saw an amazing sight
A flaming bird in the sky
Reflecting off the lake
I stared in awe as it flew away
Leaving ashes in its wake
And in my vision, faint fiery rings
I have not seen the creature since that day
But every evening, as I watch the setting sun
I could swear that I see wings
