Dia De Los Muertos

With candles lit and shades drawn up
they dance into the square

Twirling skirts and gruesome masks
with all the night to share

They’ve come to honor loved ones
they’ve come to sing them home

So all the spirits can be at peace
so no one is ………alone

Up to the gravestones they shall pass
and go their merry way

The spirits rise to see their folks
 to watch their bodies sway

And dance the welcome of this oh so holy night
until the darkness gives way to day
and we bask in morning’s light.

A Poem For Danielle

You brought us laugher, you brought us light we could not ask for more

Your memory is all we have, for now your spirit soars

Up in the heavens you will watch, and guard us everyday

You will help and guide the ones you love and help them on their way

You blessed us with friendship, loyalty and love

And though your gone your never far, watching from above.

Though you can not be with us, your love and hope is here

And for that we thank you Dani, we know your always near

Mischief Maker

Mischief Maker, eyes a glow
where do you come from, no one knows
you twist the knife with every smile
your wicked laugh and sense of style
hinting wants and subtle pleases
bring the room down to its knees
the gangs all here to look at you
the touch, the sent, to come unglued
you soak it up, it feeds your need
you play your pipe and start to lead
Mischief Maker, you take them all
they crave your attentions, you stop and stall
confusion reins within your wake
your done, your gone their lives you take
Mischief Maker, your job is done
our lives are changed, we’ve come undone.

Player Man

Player Man, you play those keys,
your notes sound swell and everyone see’s

Player Man, your touch it tingles
your stroke it meldes, our bodies mingle

Player Man, you wow the crowd
bring them in and make them loud

Player Man, you turn those heads
lift those spirits and fall into beds

Player Man, you rise to go
you’ve played your song, you up and blow

Player Man, you’ve worked these keys
your gig is up, you up and leave

Player Man, you’ve another show
and what you wanted we’ll never know

Player Man, you’ll never stay
your sound and notes have made you stray

A Mothers Love

As they smile in their sleep and dream of happy things

With covers tucked they slip away and hear their Mothers sing

Sweet lullabies and stories too, they slowly drift away

Knowing Mom was always there to help them through their day

And when the sun comes up again to start the day anew

She will be right there for them just like they always knew

She will always help them on their way and help them rise above

Come what may, She’s always there and that’s a Mother’s Love

Tears Come Down

The tears fall down and drown the sun,
another day is gone.

Dreams of restless hopes and fears don’t
know where they belong.

Another tear, a silent scream, one more happy smile.

Just one chance to get it right, to walk another mile.

The tides go out, the lamp’s been lit
another day begins..

Yet sleepless nights run into days
that never seem to end.

The dreams come back to taunt the night,
and just a bit of fear.

The tears come down, all dreams are gone
it all has disappeared.

A Fateful Night

pulses racing as one, closer and closer
bodies working grinding together
sweat drips down making things slick tumbling, turning, crashing, falling
hearts pounding, blood pumping, minds whirling
explosions, like fireworks in the sky sleep, clinging, peaceful
easing breath, a light touch, shifting positions
the sun comes up

See the Light

There are days, when you think it may never end and the pressures getting to you.

There are days when the fighting never ends and you think no one has a clue

Open up those bright eyes, let the truth shine through.

There’s always something out there, to make it all worth while.

So open up those bright eyes, and give us all a smile.

Heartbreak

Running through the forest green
shadows fall across a scene

Beating, pumping red and black
dripping pouring from the attack

A hinted smile, one sad tear
eyes look on with a glinted leer

Natural beauty inside and out
torn apart and thrown about

Slowly pieces start to form
somewhat resembling what once was norm

Joy and anger closely relate
the smile and tear retaliate

The wooded green has peace once more
as red and black become reborn

All is quiet once again,
it finally now has come to an end.

Tears Will Fall

Silent watching from afar, her tears fall down like rain

No one sees her hide her eyes, no one sees her pain

She sits and laughs and smiles away, hoping no one knows

What dark secrets she hides inside, or how far she will go

To see the one that she holds dear, the one who is in her heart

She pretends there is nothing there, inside she is torn apart

She knows that it may never come to pass, it may never come to be

And so she keeps it locked up tight, and hopes for some reprieve

He holds her heart, He holds dreams she knows she can’t break free

She hopes deep down she never will, one day He will finally see

Until then the tears will fall inside her as she plays the part

And all the while she stop and smile, and slowly fall apart
