You Take Me Higher

Will I say: “I made a difference”?
Will I say: that I stood out?
Will I say: “I gave it my all, beyond the shadow of a doubt”?
When it is my time that comes, and when the end is near
Will I accept the outcome?
Will I have any fear?
I’ve made so many mistakes
My judgment’s not been right
I’ve burned so many bridges
But still, I see a light!

It seems like every time I want to close the door, there you are, you hold the key,
and I don’t know what for

You take me higher
You are the one
I know you hold the key
You take me higher
You are the one
What am I supposed to be?

I am here
You are there
I am here
You are there

You take me higher
You are the one
I know you hold the key
You take me higher
You are the one
What am I supposed to be?

Will I say: “I made a difference”?
Will I say: that I stood out?
Will I say: “I gave it my all, beyond the shadow of a doubt”?
When it is my time that comes, and when the end is near
Will I accept the outcome?
Will I have any fear?
I’ve made so many mistakes
My judgment’s not been right
I’ve burned so many bridges
But still, I see a light!

You take me higher
You are the one
I know you hold the key
You take me higher
You are the one
What am I supposed to be?

Message In a Bottle

I see you’re so alone and abandoned
your head in your hands, I wonder: “why"?
Your heart, it feels betrayed and broken
And you don’t care if you live or die

Yeah, you’ve searched deep inside every bottle
And you never found any message there
Yeah, your soul is in pain, and it drives you insane
There’s no message in a bottle, you don’t care
You’ve got to start taking care of yourself man
You’ve been running away far too long
Time to screw your head on straight; you know it’s not too late
Get to moving before your soul is gone

You’re a diamond
Yeah you’re looking pretty rough
You’re a lot of talk, but you don’t look very tough
Maybe years ago you were, but you’ve outlived your glory daze
Can you see through the bottle’s bottom?
Or is there a blinding haze?

Yeah, you’ve searched deep inside every bottle
And you never found any message there
Yeah, your soul is in pain, and it drives you insane
There’s no message in a bottle, you don’t care
You’ve got to start taking care of yourself man
You’ve been running away far too long
Time to screw your head on straight; you know it’s not too late
Get to moving before your soul is gone

You’re abandoned, on the street & all alone!
You got a place to be, but you don’t like to call it home!
You’re a diamond!
Yeah, you think you’ll never die!
Keep on looking inside that bottle, you’re gonna find out that’s a lie!

Song: the Way I Think of You

I just had an experience
I was dreaming about you.
And thinking of how our lives could be
if things work out for us two.
I’ve spent sleepless nights thinking of you
Your playful expressions
Your face
I remember immersing in your attitude
Memories time can’t erase

Do you get the feeling?
When you think of me?
Do you get the feeling?
That it is destiny
Do you get the feeling?
Is it something new?
Do you think about me?
The way I think of you?

Don’t know how much more I can take this
Desire and passion creep in
Anticipation’s got a hold on me
I can’t wait for this to begin
Still, don’t know if it’s going to happen
Don’t know if I should dare
I’m just enjoying the foreplay
It’s already taken me there

Do you get the feeling?
When you think of me?
Do you get the feeling?
That it is destiny
Do you get the feeling?
Is it something new?
Do you think about me?
The way I think of you?

We’ve never opposed one another
Argued, or got so loud.
We always seemed to have other friends
never really hung with the same crowd
Do you get the feeling when you think of me, like you are beginning something new?
Tell me girl: do you ever think about me
the way I think of you?

Do you get the feeling?
When you think of me?
Do you get the feeling?
That it is destiny
Do you get the feeling?
Is it something new?
Do you think about me?
The way I think of you?

This Earthly Life

Long languid crawling of this earthly life

Overwhelmed with anxiety

In the news, wars, perpetual strife

No more filial piety

Wisdom, she whispers

But we can’t hear her call

The madness of this world

Is heard over all

The machine keeps on turning

As we travel through time

Desire keeps burning

Over what is yours and what’s mine

We, we have no clue

And our children, they’re doomed

As we have no values

Because our hearts are consumed

By our wants

Not our needs

We are puppets controlled

By excess and greed

Long languid crawling of this earthly life

No idea why we are here

Spinning on this rock of darkness and light

And the end, she draws ever so near…

The World Is Waiting For Me

The world is waiting for me
but I'm stuck here in my room
ceiling fan keeps spinning round
mind's become consumed
shadows and reflections
like a strobe in the corner of my eye
I'm looking at the tv
but I have no idea why
the grey smoke from my cigarette
dancing in the light
slowly swaying back and forth
such a sultry way to flight
returning into nothingness
clouds of dust and ash
dispersing in air's currents
under the window's sash

Time Is Gone

Time has come
Time is gone
I’m here wondering: How did it last so long?
God knows I loved you
I can’t take it anymore
Tired of confusion, I’m already out the door
You said you’d be the one who was always here for me
But as you can see, that’s not how things turned out to be

And somewhere in time is a faded memory, of what we were, all our dreams, and
what was supposed to be
I know you loved me, but time, it always takes its toll
I gave you my heart
You completely drained my soul
You are so predictable
I see through your empty eyes
You’re just a hollow shell
It really comes as no surprise

You always got what you wanted
I was just too blind to see, all of the conditions branded on your love for me
But all of that is done now
And I’m not so surprised
Have to say: I saw it coming, when I looked right through your eyes
Looking back now, I don’t know why I did not see
I should have realized, you weren’t the one for me

Somewhere in time is a faded memory, of what we were & all our dreams, what was
supposed to be
You know I loved you, but time, it always takes its toll
I gave you my heart
You completely drained my soul
You are so predictable
I see through your empty eyes
You’re just a hollow shell
It really comes as no surprise

Baptized In the Storm

Well now it’s too late, I’ve been baptized
My naiveness torn apart in the storm
And everything fragile’s been broken
Learned not to count on a place safe and warm

Yeah yeah yeah you know I’ve been baptized
My heart, torn apart in the storm
My soul, it has been bound and broken
Kinda wish I had never been born
Yeah you know it’ll take you, ah-ah-all of the strength you have
Just to make it through and there’s no promise to you
On what will come to be of any of the dreams that you’ve had

Ain’t no white light coming to take me
Don’t even think that one really exists
If there was, would’ve already saved me
When I was immersed in my innocence

Yeah yeah yeah you know I’ve been baptized
My heart, torn apart in the storm
My soul, it has been bound and broken
Kinda wish I had never been born
Yeah you know it’ll take you, ah-ah-all of the strength you have
Just to make it through and there’s no promise to you
On what will come to be of any of the dreams that you’ve had

Yeah in this world you better have boots on
Cuz you know that it's all getting deep
The cons and confusers in season
There is nothing sacred you’ll keep

Yeah yeah yeah you know I’ve been baptized
My heart, torn apart in the storm
My soul, it has been bound and broken
Kinda wish I had never been born
Yeah you know it’ll take you, ah-ah-all of the strength you have
Just to make it through and there’s no promise to you
On what will come to be of any of the dreams that you’ve had

You

I enjoy basking in your essence
To be wrapped inside your presence
Next to you on a bed so soft
I smell your hair and I am lost
To feel your heartbeat
listen to you breathe
To wrap my arm around you
underneath the sheet
Nestling my face, close to your ear
I caress you from behind
And you are content, nothing to fear
Girl, you are on my mind...

Rhyme: the Way I Think of You

I’ve just returned from an experience. I was dreaming about you.

I was imagining what it could be like, had things worked out for us two.

We have never opposed each other, or argued, or got very loud.

We always seemed to have other friends. We ended up with different crowds.

But you, you were so beautiful and I see this still holds true.

Me, I haven’t lost my hair or my rebel attitude.

Yeah, since I’ve seen your face again, it’s easier getting through the day.

I think of you and your sweet smile and that sends me on my way.

It’s like; for once in life I’ve experienced something that gives me a little hope…

Something that makes my life worth living and it’s so much easier to cope.

Do you get the feeling when you think of me, like you are beginning something new?

Tell me: do you ever think of me, the way I think of you?

A Time of Reflection

A time of reflection
But I don’t want to see the pain
I change my direction
Ignorance is bliss it keeps me sane
And I want to show you
Over and over just how feel
Yeah I want to know you
That way you know my love is real
But life isn’t like that
No perfect answer for my heart
Can’t bring myself to accept that
It’s what keeps me from my new start

A time of reflection
A time to see the change I need
A time for me to let go
It seems so hard to let it bleed
I have to be honest
Because to myself I must be true
Yeah it’s time to let go
Of my desires for me and you
I don’t want to do it
But I don’t see another way
So I just close my eyes
As I let go I feel you slip away

A time of reflection
In the storm of life my heart’s been blown
A time of acceptance
And once again I’m all alone
I know I’ll be alright
I can’t help but think of you
I hope that you sleep tight
And wish you well in what you do

A time of reflection
A time of reflection
A time of reflection
A time of reflection
