This Earthly Life

Long languid crawling of this earthly life Overwhelmed with anxiety In the news, wars, perpetual strife No more filial piety Wisdom, she whispers But we can’t hear her call The madness of this world Is heard over all The machine keeps on turning As we travel through time Desire keeps burning Over what is yours and what’s mine We, we have no clue And our children, they’re doomed As we have no values Because our hearts are consumed By our wants Not our needs We are puppets controlled By excess and greed Long languid crawling of this earthly life No idea why we are here Spinning on this rock of darkness and light And the end, she draws ever so near…

Thank you Susan. I have so many poems. Probably around 100, but I am not much of a reader and not sure if my stuff is any good. I am seriously thinking of publishing a book and am lost in how to go about it all. Your comments give me hope! :)
