Storm

Storm

Summer sky boils
Mother natures way
Fierce ozone and loam

Sway and thrash
Relentless rain falls
Sun bright flashes

Hypnotic cadence this sky
Towers of air
Gravity brings to earth

Beginnings

Beginnings

Wish I had a switch that lets it go quiet
Instead we hide in boxes and behind stone walls
Leave wishes unattended were they float in the breeze
Until it’s too late and the sun has set

Pluck hope from new beginnings
And walk paths bare of your foot prints
Trace touch across new faces
And listen to a night you do not know

Post memories in feather and wing
And wait with breath that hopes they remember
Let it be one moment to the next
For it all shines brand new

Rapture

Rapture

I stood on the edge of a moment afraid

Then I stepped in to live it

It has no past, no future, no questions, and no answers

Yet it holds a lifetime of emotion

Like an exquisite snowflake on a silent night

It will fall to earth never loosing it magnificent rapture

It’s ecstasy remembered only by you and me

A Soldiers Way

A Soldiers Way

I have hope in my eyes
That the ground will not tremble

I have faith in my heart
That the man on my right, will always be the man on my right

I have love in my soul
That the brothers we fight will remember what peace is

I have trust in those around me
That their skills will protect us all

I have strength in my hands
That the work we do will be true and right

I have justice in the footsteps I take
That every footfall will take me one step closer to home...

A Moment

A Moment

The strangest things fill your head

Of stars and moonbeams that drive the soul

The way the sun shines upon the water

I know of these things, through you

Because of you, in your eyes

A world hidden, yet shared

Future and past drift by as clouds

A beginning is formed in a moment shared

Room In My Head

Room In My Head

Drive it all away, when it’s just confusion
Up in my head, like a screaming illusion

Time after time, the memory drives
Until I can’t breathe, and still it strives

On it goes, like a pulsing beat
So far, no will, to collapse in defeat

The moment is here, make your choice
Scream if you can, but you have no voice

When it’s all said and done, you swallowed the pill
I’m up in your head and I won’t stand still
