Eureka Cries

The old miner toils,
Searching mother earths spoils,
Tunnel dark and dingy,
Old wheel barrow wingy,
He has been there for all time,
Why? For no reason, no rhyme,
Oblivious to life up above,
Never feeling human touch nor love,
His one true love the gold he moves,
A demanding mistress she proves,
She is his one true calling,
Captivating, mysterious, enthrawling,
Dreaming of eureka cries,
Until the day he dies.

The Tune

Dark and eerie, I left you to rest,
Didnt plan it, did my best,
Needed you here to stay,
No, you had to go away,
Things change, some stay the same,
Have to admit we played a good game,
You danced to a tune all of your own,
Sadly it was the happiest I've ever known.

Tree

What have you seen, Why-
Has life passed you by?
You have grown and changed now,
So has the world below,
You are un-moved, just old,
What secrets are whitnessed,untold,
They say you have eyes, dear tree,
I ask myself how could that be?
For one so old and so wise,
Seeing so much, no tears dwell in your eyes.

The Road

A long winding road-life,
Harrowing filled with strife,
At times rocky hard to follow,
Other times strait and narrow,
Where will it take us, to what end?
Dont know, cant begin to pretend,
But- while you are by my side,
Roller coaster of life take us for a ride.

Park Chair

Empty the favorite park chair,
Bare are the once green trees,
The sight brings me to my knees,
Where is my true love fair?

Meet me by our best park chair,
Weather it be rain hail or shine,
Be there my love, prove you are mine,
Please promise you will be there,

Her words daunt, ply in my ear,
Was she just taking me for a ride?
Did she mean just to hurt my pride?
This was my greatest fear,

I sit at our best park chair,
Dispair grips at my throat,
My love to another I cannot devote,
Like the trees I have been stripped bare.
