I Still Shine

i was clueless confused lost hurt i was all tht a girl shld never be, you showed me the
world, made me happy, but in reality you used me, i was blind thought you were on my side believed you when you filled my head with lies.......... but despite that I still shine

i was caught up believed you when you spoke those 3 words to me, fell head over heels for you, i lost me inside of you, thought you cared for me, thought you were there for me, but things aren't always what they seem...... but despite that I still shine

I remember tears, tears rollin down my eyes, i remember the ache of fear that I would lose you,
thinkin it was my mistake, I remember givin you my all, that was my biggest fall…. Trustin you sent me affliction, cause my mother warned me but I never listened……. but despite that I still shine

You the snake, two faced, put me in shame, dragged me thru pain, but no matter what I still
called your name, you made me feel wanted, made me feel loved , my insecurities was the death of me you scared me, cause when the pain dies i'll be left with the memory........... but despite that I still shine

A Real Woman

A real woman holds her family strong
Possesses much power under her arms
A real woman lets nothing stand in her path
Dose what she’s told no questions asked
 According to tradition…..
I’m not a real woman, are you?

A real woman thinks of everyone else
Puts them all before herself
A real woman place is in the kitchen
Never talks but always listens
According to tradition…..
I’m not a real woman, are you?

A real woman has no dreams
Her dreams are reality
A real woman tends to her family’s needs
But can never be free
According to tradition…..
I’m not a real woman.....nor will i ever be!!

A real woman must tend to her husband
No matter how un-loving
A real woman holds her pain inside her
Even when pain sits right besides her
According to tradition…..
I’m not a real woman…..nor will I ever be!!!

Through the Eyes of Me

Through the eyes of me what do I see?
I see a beautiful young lady with lots of dreams
I see a book that has yet to be read
I see a journey that is never dead
I see power, I see determination
Through the Eyes of Me
I see respect for myself
I see sorrow for pains I felt
I see love for man kind
I see knowledge for a better mind
I see hope for a brighter tomorrow
I see truth to let go of the sorrow
I see inner beauty, I see generosity
Through the Eyes of Me
I always wondered what other’s see through their eyes
But I come to realize
It only matters what I see…..through the eyes of me

Pride

i always stand my ground
with pride I wear my crown
but right now it feels like I’m falling down
lost my balance like I need somebody to hold me
miss independent that’s what I'm spose to be
but yet i feel so weak
like I’m being crushed by reality
 i try to hold on
play it off like i'm strong
cause i dnt wanna cry those tears
of hurt frm many years
wanna let go when my hands is sore
cause i cant hold on no more
but thts their plan
to see me fall in the sand
to be helpless to be like the rest
but i dont wanna fall in this mess
and when the haters hate
pay them no mind let em fall to their fate
cause i stand my ground
and with pride i wear my crown
