Lessons Unlearned

Although your both gone
Yours souls out of sight
This path that i've taken
It doesn't seem right.

What would you have said?
Are you watching above?
These memories are fading
Reach out for my love.

I sit there in silence
The sounds are quite real
My pulse won't stop racing
The chill i can feel.

What could you have taught me?
Your guidence not earned
If i could have listened
To Lessons Unlearned.

The Words Go Unspoken

How can you be happy?
Who knows what your thinking?
Does the pain hurt so deeply,
The tears cause your blinking.

If you had made the choice
To say what you meant,
Then things could have been better,
Your life so well spent.

But then the night comes
and the doubt starts to rise
Your thoughts fill your mind
Like the stars fill the sky.

The peace never felt
The happy images broken
The love that was lost
When The Words Go Unspoken.

Left On the Table

We love to pretend
And it's easy to say
That what others think
Doesn't matter or sway

The opinions we have
Of ourselves and our mark
That we've left when it's over
Our personal ark

But why live a life
For no one to remember
The things that we've done
The moments so tender

Wether good or for bad
The worst and the best
When your time expires
Your eternal rest

Did you give it your all
Will they tell of your name
Was it all on the table
Or just a flickering flame.
