the thing i try to hide,

Asking Why,

we haunt our own dreams,
our own heads,
we can't find peace,
even in our own beds,
we lose our minds,
to save our skin,
our childish game,
you'll never win,
cause you can hide,
but you can't run,
your flesh will burn,
under the sun,
the dead will crawl,
up from the grave,
to join the living,
that misbehave.

Hello friend,
i see you there,
crying silently,
in despair,
crystal rivers,
liquid sorrow,
fears still linger,
til tomorrow,
when the past,
will slip away,
we will die,
by light of day,
the moon will call,
my spirit to wake,
the heart of beast,
is mine to break,
with gentle fingers,
cooling air,
heartless fire,
does not care,
what is love,
it all will burn,
because we,
will never learn,
the power of love,
and light inside,
under cover,
from fear we hide,
the lights are red,
my heart is blue,
and i know not,
what to do,
walking blind,
to waking dreams,
blocking out,
the silent screams,
when running wild,
is no more fun,
the children hide,
from the burning sun,
wishing hard,
for stars to fly,
we watch our dreams,
rain from the sky.

wings so light,
broken now,
hearts will bend,
love will bow,
til it breaks,
along with me,
you are lost,
as love can be,
so we cry,
for the past,
and the joy,
that wouldn't last,
love is a lie,
thats what i say,
prove me wrong,
find a way,
if you can,
make me see,
what my own,
heart can be,
because i feel,
hollow and cold,
let the heat,
of flame take hold,
and bring out,
warmth in me,
heat that might,
set me free,
chilling stare,
calls me out,
i must fight,
back my doubt,
it's okay,
to let it go,
when the pain,
is all you know,

Drag your chair,
Across the floor,
To the freezer,
Open the door,
A cardboard bowl,
Colored pink,
Grab the biggest spoon,
From the sink,
Bite after bite,
And a sticky smile,
Your favorite treat,
For a while,
Always cold,
A frozen dream,
Your taste buds call,
Strawberry ice cream!
