Love Or Hate

Love
Or hate
A feeling of
Burning, blazing mortal devotion
Almost ready to boil over,
Run wildly free for eternity galore
And scar all in its ruthless path
Like a torched fire of emotion
Taking over mindless, passionate fools
With a taste of
Love or hate
Or both
Intertwined

My Parallel Universe

I look up at the sky wondering, hoping, praying
I see a twinkle, a gleam, a star
This star is now my parallel universe, another world
A world where I can live freely
A world where there is peace
Where persecution is a foreign language
Not spoken, not mentioned, not understood
However, my time in this other world is limited
For the sun begins to rise, bringing on the heat of hatred
I am now back on this world where reality creeps towards me
Showing me the barbed wires, the guards, and the smoke
I hear people crying in despair, screaming in pain
Instead of a blissful yellow glow, black dread hovers over me
But as the days drag on, not knowing which one is my last
I have hope, faith, a reason to live
My parallel universe
A world that is true, sincere, honest
Not corrupt, filled with hatred and discrimination
I know that one day soon my world and the world I am in now will merge
Bringing back the happiness I once had
Bringing back the peace and justice that once existed
But for now all I have is hope and my parallel universe

Monster I'Ve Become

Selfishness runs through my blood
It flows through my veins like hot lava
It seethes in my mind like burning coal
It rips through my flesh like tiny serpents
It's made me the monster I am today

Lost

The hour is still and undisturbed as I glance into the darkness of eternity
The only movement is that of my heart and the trees surrounding my soul
Stripped of their leaves and true identity
Mirroring the emotions that overwhelm my tranquility
I feel lost, betrayed, misunderstood
My limbs search for something to touch
My soul yearns for someone to love
I look up at the heavens, waiting desperately for a sign
I need a savior, a guardian, a friend
Someone to hold me close and keep me warm in times of sudden chill
I look down the long narrow path of my life
Haunted by the images flashing by me
Disturbed by the voices that taunt my memory
I want to run away and escape from it all
But the harsh gray stones are wet and cold beneath my feet
Forcing me to remember the unforgiving times I have endured
Forcing me to memorize the cruel faces I have encountered
I sigh and hope salvation will be restored
For I no longer want to feel a sense of rejection
For I can no longer tolerate this pain
For no longer will I be
Lost

Beyond the Rainbow

They say it is much better beyond the rainbow
They say beyond the rainbow, children do not cry
They say beyond the rainbow is a place filled with peace
They say beyond the rainbow people do not die

I wish I were in the place beyond the rainbow
I wish I were there to hear the bluebirds sing
I wish I were there to see the sun rise and set
I wish I were there to taste the fruit the trees bring

I would be so happy if I could be in the place beyond the rainbow
If I were there I would laugh and play
If I were there I would smile
If I were there, I would give charity every day

But I am not in the place beyond the rainbow; I am in a hospital bed
I am not in the place beyond the rainbow and I have no hair on my head
Although I am not in the place beyond the rainbow I still wish I were there
Because if I were in the place beyond the rainbow my life would not be in despair
