Beyond the Rainbow
They say it is much better beyond the rainbow
They say beyond the rainbow, children do not cry
They say beyond the rainbow is a place filled with peace
They say beyond the rainbow people do not die
I wish I were in the place beyond the rainbow
I wish I were there to hear the bluebirds sing
I wish I were there to see the sun rise and set
I wish I were there to taste the fruit the trees bring
I would be so happy if I could be in the place beyond the rainbow
If I were there I would laugh and play
If I were there I would smile
If I were there, I would give charity every day
But I am not in the place beyond the rainbow; I am in a hospital bed
I am not in the place beyond the rainbow and I have no hair on my head
Although I am not in the place beyond the rainbow I still wish I were there
Because if I were in the place beyond the rainbow my life would not be in despair
