A Strange Night

A strange night

At night it comes
A tick, a knock, a sound
From the parlor to the bed
A tick, a knock, a sound
At the window shade
To then raise the skin
and wash me from ankle to head
From there it neither moves nor goes back
What can it be
From where does it go
To only repeat again the next night

Arches of Time

On a drive I saw two arches of color
Two arches of color of such brilliance as to bring joy to the heart
Two arches of color striving to meet each other in the middle
Two arches striving but never meeting
A sadness of the moment or a hope that they will someday meet
Better to see the moment and look forward for when they meet
For time doesn’t stop and neither should we.

A Key

Free me from the Cage of my heart
Where the desires bend inward
Free me from the Room of my mind
Where thoughts stand still
O give me the Key to open that which keeps me held in
Let me stretch! Let me fly!

Hidden Sorrow

Sorrow

On occasion I find the passing loss of something un-named
Something found and yet unbiddened
A some thing of the past or future or present I know not what
Yet sorrow it is
A feeling both sad and strange

Wonder

Were I bird so high I would fly
Were I dolphin how fast would I swim
Were I a horse how far would I roam
But human am I so what will I do?

Loss

Loss
Of terror I know but one
The loss of all that are close

Steps and Lessons

Steps and Lessons
There lies
		Steps that go down
					And down
							And down
To the Quiet Pool that Is my Soul
What are the steps?
But lessons learned day by day
Week by week
Year by year
So when does one find this deep and quiet pool?
Hmm
Better yet be the question of what lessons will lead one to the Soul of Me.
