If killing wasn’t a sin

If killing wasn’t a sin
I could finally win
I could stop living without disobeying God
Something that grows within me, it’s odd

If killing wasn’t a sin
I would slit my throat
Sending all the letters I wrote
Is there anyone who would mourn me ?
Will you, my dear ?

If killing wasn’t a sin
I would jump off a cliff
Right after one of our tiff
Just to make you regret
Just to make you fret and never forget

If killing wasn’t a sin
And I killed myself tonight
Will it be your plight ?
Will you realize that I was worth the fight ?

But killing is a sin
So I would never commit it
Despite everything, I’ll be nowhere in sight
Because your toxicity isn’t worth my time

The jester and her King

Looking at my candle in the castle
Wondering the reasons of my hassle
Falling in love with my King in spring
What a foolish thing that stings !

My King, already promised to his queen
Oh, I wish that by you, I’ll be seen
But I’m only a naive yearning jester
I’ll never be gracious and wise like her
The rejection, sadly, is so foreseen

If one day I declare my love for you
Will you know that what I’m telling is true ?
Or will you think it’s another one of my jests ?
Will you be able to digest my loving interest ?

Blowing out my candle
Deciding not to cause an embarrassing scandal
I’ll never tell my love for my dear King
But what we could’ve been will forever be missing

Forget me not

Just like a myosotis
"Do not forget me", I yell
You're the only one I miss
On thoughts of you, I still dwell
I'm under your spell

Falling into the abyss
Of you, I still reminisce
This farewell
Feels like a poisonous kiss
"Do not forget me", I compel

If I were a zombie

If I were a zombie
I would definitely eat your brain
Not because I wish you pain
But because I’m consumed by jealousy

I want to be just like you
Act just like you
Think just like you
Have your brillant brain in me
Be able to understand what you see

If I were a zombie
I would eat your brain
Is this a part of my insanity ?
I don’t want to be plain
I don’t want to die in vain
Please, let me have your identity

The dark dove

A vagabond of despond
With nowhere left to belong
He wandered beneath the sun above
Still searching for a tender soul to love

For so long, he flew from place to place
Hoping to find a heart that would embrace
The fragile soul he carried within
The wounded heart beneath his skin

But rejected and neglected time after time
He slowly lost his reason to fly
He slept through the warmth of the daytime
And lay beneath the stars at nighttime

Alone with his sorrow, hidden in the shadow
He thought that he was better off alone
The dove that once searched for someone to love
Slowly grew darker beneath the moon above

Down below, he became cold as snow
The once soft dove, now a terrifying crow
The only thing he could do was bow
And pray to God to free him from his woe

The monster I tried to save

You grew up in a terrifying house
Full of screams and violence
Your father beating you and his spouse
Until it brought submission and silence

I could sense it in you
I wanted to help you, it’s true
I know that inside you there’s a hurt child
A fragile boy that became hostile

But your childhood trauma turned you into him
You became what you swore you'd never be
Your bright light slowly grew dim
Revealing the monster you hid within thee

Even so, my compassion got the best of me
I gave up all of me to save thee
In exchange, you slowly drowned me
Draining my light and life
I didn’t know you were my enemy
The worst monster I’ve ever seen

The need to leave

By your words you wounded my soul
Creating a hole that was long ago whole
There is no solution, no redemption
Ignoring temptation, I’ll choose separation

I want to take my distance
Despite my heart’s hard resistance
To be freed of this deed, it’s a need
You’re a weed I have to get rid of to succeed

But if you come back and talk to me
I fear I won’t have the strength to flee
I’ll beg you to never insist
‘Cause I’ll never be able to resist

Too much

I wrote you thousands of words
Just hoping to make you understand
I only wanted to be a part of your world
My heart to you was naively handed

I was always reaching out
I sacrificed my time, my energy, my sleep
Even when my mind was full of doubts
Because you were someone I wanted to keep

I did it over and over again
Only because I loved talking to you
Only because I loved you

After you left for Florida
I heard that you told people
That I was crazy
That I was too much
That you only talked to me because you felt bad

Was it true ?
Am I too much ?

Where is my ing dignity ?
I gave you every piece of me
Hoping you would let me in
What a misery !

I begged you to stay
With one final plea
But you still abandoned me without regret
Without looking back
I’ll never let you forget

I’ve lost all my dignity
Over a friendship that was fake
For a person that I now hate

I gave my heart away
To someone who never wanted to stay
I feel it too deeply
It aches

Now I realize
I’ve given too much
To the point of losing myself
To the point of being ashamed of myself

If you’re going to break me again
Then I never want to see you again
I’d rather lose you in pain
Than lose myself again

Please, stay in Florida
And don’t you dare come back

A siren’s embrace

Sitting alone in the rainy enchanted forest
A place where my ugly thoughts could rest
I was writing in my notebook in peace
Words of love flowing like a gentle breeze

Then elegantly, a curly haired siren came to the surface
He looked right at me with his mesmerizing blue eyes
With grace, he softly touched my face
Saying : “I’ll make you forget the reasons of your cries”

Used to loneliness and coldness
I let him bring me to the darkness
Thinking it would erase my sadness
Instead, I got stuck in a mess
It was impossible to escape my weakness

I couldn’t help but follow this beautiful creature
How hypnotizing were his features !
A poisonous adventure of capture
That rapture in nature became my drowning torture

My sharpened star

You were my star
The one I kept looking from afar
The one that, even among millions
Was the only one my eyes could see

I spent endless nights
Talking to you
Praying for you
Thanking God for your existence

Yet I wonder
If the stars weren’t made to hurt
Why are they always drawn so sharply ?
If they were never meant to wound
Why do they have pointed edges ?

I never thought
That something so beautiful
Could cut so deeply
Could be so cruel and heartless
Yet
You proved me wrong
You, my sharpened star
