Hey-

Hey Momma,
He walks.

Hey Daddy,
He talks.

Hey Sister,
He said his first word today.

Hey Brother,
He sleeps.

Hey Momma,
He walks away.

Hey Daddy,
He talks…so quietly.

Hey Sister,
He said,
“Good bye.”

Hey Brother,
He won’t wake up.

Only Your Engine

Streetlights steadily strike my head with their illumination. The light throbs to the beat
of my heart. Cold pain begins to take over. Night time consumes my body. All around me. In
silence, I watch as the car carries you off, far, far away.
Cold wind catches my breath, and steals it from me. Yearning for your presence, causes me
to suffer. I wait, wait, wait. Hoping you will turn around; run to me; embrace me. You
only abandon me…
Memories flash like slide shows. My vision; blurred by tears; dripping to the corners of
my mouth. Bitter salt soaks into the crevices of my tongue. I want to push the pain away.
I want nothing more than for you to return. I want the sorrow to subside. I need
happiness…I have nothing.
Dark sky; cloudless. Empty heart; loveless. Nothing in this world will ever replace you,
nothing at all. If only time would have stopped for us, if only you had just a few more
minutes, even seconds. Then my pain would not be here, my tears would not be falling to
the hard, chilled pavement.

Everything

Letting it out, everything.
Holding in nothing.
Has got to be said.
Has got to be heard.
Listen.
I speak.
Listen…
I tell.
Everything.
You must hear.

Confusion

Hello beautiful.
How are you today?
I’ve missed you,
I want you back.
I’ve lost you.

Hello.
I’m fine, how are you?
You’re always on my mind.
He caught me off guard.
Find me.

You Know Me Now

The slate is clean, you know it all, and you know my fates, where I shall fall.
I’m no longer the mystery from before, no longer closed,
I’m an open door.
Yet, you talk and listen all the while, I no longer can
Stand in denial.
The reason you stay is because you care, that’s alright with me,
You’re my breath of fresh air,
My sadness and sorrow, you do take away,
You make me forget and carry on with my day,
If anything were to come take you away, I would never give up,
I’d find you some way.
And if you did leave, I don’t know what I’d do; life would be too hard to be without you.
So, don’t leave me behind, don’t throw me away,
I don’t know how I would get through the next day

Behind Blue Eyes

Whenever I see that little smile on her face,
I know that it’s fake and will soon be erased.
Behind her blue eyes she hides so much away, behind those four walls,
No one knows what they play.
She screams, she runs, but can’t hide just right,
And she’s far too little to put up a fight.
But out on the town, you can’t hear a sound,
And to that little girl
It’s as if no one’s around…

I'Ve Lost You

Eventually you will forget me,
I’ll only be a mere thought.
One, way back in your head.
Unimportant, no use at all.
Only because I let us fall…
I said goodbye, not even giving a chance.
When you needed it most
All I said was goodbye.
You will never take me back, you’ll be taken by then. Still, you say you know you won’t.
But I know otherwise…
You’re too amazing to pass up, to walk right through.
But, I blew it… now
I’ve lost you.

Who We Were, What We Were

The warmth of your body,
So close to mine, always sends chills up and down my spine,
How every piece of you became a part of me,
As though we were one waiting to be free.
To love, to live, how we wanted to.
As though we had nothing to lose,
I’d be there for you; you’d be there for me,
Everyone and everything would just let us be.
Who we were, what we were
Anything and everything.

The Rising Sun

Everything that you say and do
Makes me fall more in love with you.
The way you can look me into the eyes helps me understand,
You aren’t full of lies.
I want you to know that it means a lot the way you helped me,
When I no longer fought.
The battle was tough; it played with my heart,
And then you came in, you were so smart, to help me forget all the wrong that I’ve done,
You helped me to see the rising sun.

Me: You

My pain: Your game
My defeat: Your conquer
My sadness: Your happiness
My love: Your hate
We clash…
My mind: Your toy
I do what you say,
So, you took my breath away.
