Vagabond

Vagabond

Rain...thunder...wind...
All are around me
But I notice none of them.
I am a vagabond,
Never allowed friends
Nor enemies alike
I wander alone...all alone
I feel the weight of this burden.
But you'll never know what it's like
To live on the fringe,
Never ignored
Yet never acknowledged.
Just existing.
Blowing from one place to another,
Trying to find a place you'll conform
Oh yes, I know the burden you carry.
END YOUR SEARCH
I've trudged our weary path long enough
To know this: the ones like us,
The outcasts, rebels, and misfits......
The VAGABONDS
Have no place in this world.
We'll never fit, so why try?
Not that I haven't tried
Oh how I've tried!
But you just look away
Snicker behind your hand
Pass the smug comments to your friends.
And I pretend not to know
Not to realize.
I and the ones like me, understand.
So be careful.
Next time you share snide remarks,
Think twice.
Because you, the ones with all the friends,
Will end up worse than I.
You'll become one of us,
Isolated
Alone
With no one to call your friend.
When you see the one person who
Immediately makes you think
"freak"
Take the time to look under their mask
And you'll stay away
From the path I've led.
All alone..

The Mask

Amazing how something in one's eyes
Could appear so different in another's
Where you see pain, loneliness, and heartache
I see comfort, companionship, and peace
You think you know
Do you?!?
No!
You will never understand
This seething rage
I hide just below the surface...
Wake up every morning, force myself out of
bed
When I already know what to expect
I finish getting ready.
Ah! Ive almost forgotten the most important
part
-my mask.
You see, what you think you understand is
nothing more
Than a thin, wavering mask, covering
What is just beneath the skin
If only someone would take the time
To care and to talk
Then maybe, just maybe
The mask would be taken
Slowly, but eventually
And maybe I could come out of this pit
But instead, I trudge through the day
Vision averted
Scarcely making contact with another

Home at last
I've waited all day for this
Collapse on the bed
And wait
Oh the waiting
For that moment when I can finally
Slip into the blackness
Knowing that when I awake
I'll confront the same thing once more
But for now I let the dark envelop me
All this because no one asked

What you saw as a "weird" or "creepy" kid
Was really nothing more
Than someone who's hurt inside
But your slights and degradations continue
Hah! I laugh your hate away
Even though you don't realize
How deep the knife of your words
Is cutting

So maybe..
Next time,
Before you open your mouth
Maybe, you should think about
Who's really hiding
Underneath the mask your talking to

White

READ BLACK BEFORE THIS. IT WILL
MAKE FOR A BETTER READ!!!

White
Some have seen black
They are the ones without hope
Run to the light you who are alone
Experience white
Here you can find peace
There pain and turmoil fill the endless abyss
Here you will rest
If only you choose to follow
Hide in the blackness if you must
COWARDS!
All of you!
Too familiar, this blackness
 And so alienate yourselves
Why?!? Can't you see the warmth, the comfort
If only you would trust
But no, you live
In fear and shadow
Because you've chosen the darkness
Forever will you be in turmoil
So easy it could be
All you must do is grasp the thread of hope
Ah!
Only inches from your grasp,
Yet millions of miles from your understanding
Without understanding, there can be no trust
Until you trust, there will be no relief
For your weary, aching soul
You cry out
"Oh to leave this pit and join those who truly
know!"
You gaze into the white
While all of the enlightened ones
Stare solemnly back
"You have chosen to live in fear and darkness,
because you failed to take the simple step
of trust,
       this will be your demise."
And suddenly,
SNIP!!
The thread that once shined
In your abyss of despair has vanished
And with it your only chance
As you cry and moan
You hear a voice
"Go, warn others like you so they may avoid
your fate."
Obediently you follow the voice
Inside your head
Then, the ground has vanished
You are tumbling head over heels
Deeper into the pit
But you no longer care
For you avoided..

Black

"BLACK
The color black is all around
Its reflected in the downcast eyes of every
passerby
Brooding, angry clouds display their rage in
the rolling, rumbling
dark
Its in the grave while family members gather
to pay respect
Black: the color of death
Its everywhere, yet never seen
The people shove and fight it away
And hide their deepest secrets in the pit of
silence and dark
Feel it upon you
Yet look up, down, back, forward and you will
not find it
Such a common thing, this darkness, yet so
few who truly understand
But there are those who do
And it is a terrible burden to bear indeed
For the unlucky few who know the truth
Those that realize its not only a color
...Its an emotion
Some become consumed
And soon they will know
Not only does black describe
But IT IS
A physical presence
Consuming, terrifying, destroying
Suffocating
And others still will welcome it with open arms
And welcome it though they may
Here they will find no comfort
In the blackness they will find only pain and
despair
And in the end, no matter how they dealt with
the black
Those who ignored, those who recognized but
chose to deny
Those who understood and feared; those who
welcomed all with open
arms
All, yes all, of these will fall
And in the end, there is no hope
Only the black
Never will anyone avoid...
THE BLACK"

Just a free verse I wrote the other day. Wrote it basically out of
random emotion. Just sat down and let it flow. My first real poem to
speak of. Anyway, I thought it was pretty good for a first try, just
wanted some feedback. Thanks
