Aida Nielsen Poem
Ducklings hatching from the eggs,
That shatter like a thin glass,
Learning how to move their legs,
And stepping on the wet grass.
I run my hand slowly through your soft hair,
I feel how your breath is heating the air,
My heart melts when I look into your eyes,
My soulmate, so gentle, gracious and wise.
Your legs get softer and you're falling down,
I feel a cold shiver of fright,
I look up, noone's around,
Fast, loud, blue light,
Death.

Aida Nielsen Poem
You told me to put make-up on,
The more the better,
The more fake I look the better.
You forgot to ask me what I want,
What lights my eyes,
What draws my smile.

Aida Nielsen Poem
The language of love doesn't have words,
Special letters or dictionaries,
And yet it's the richest language,
By the meaning and weight it carries.
The language of love cannot be written,
With a pen on a piece of paper,
But if it's written with the heart,
It becomes another heart's shaper.
The language of love is not just spoken
In a country, but everywhere on earth,
We use it to tell each other,
How much our presence is worth.
The language of love is not spoken,
The same way by everyone,
And when we learn each other's dialect,
It's hard, but it's healthy and fun.

Aida Nielsen Poem
Every summer the sun was touching your skin,
Your fingers, your cheeks, your nose and then your chin,
And I dreamt that one day I will touch them, too,
I dreamt I could hold your face and then kiss you.
I dreamt of feeling your wet, soft lips on mine,
I dreamt of sharing a home and a red wine,
My heart was so loud, but my mouth was so still,
I kept my dreams inside, and I always will.
Now you have a wife, a daughter and a son,
My heart is so empty, and nothing is fun,
It's way too late to say how much I love you,
I wish you were mine, I wish you loved me, too.
My dear friend, we'll never have a time for us,
We won't share a home or a kiss in a bus,
My dear friend, it is so hard to let you go,
Without you, my heart is soft and cold like snow.

Aida Nielsen Poem
If you thought you lost me, what would you do,
Would you cry out rivers, would you lose yourself, too?
If life took me far away,
Would you swim the ocean to see me again?
If my memory faded away,
Would you treat me gently, would you love me the same,
Would I still be good enough for you,
Would you kiss me slowly, like you always do?
And if the stars fell from the sky,
Would you then try to give me one?
If the sky broke down and fell on us,
Would you come closer to be in my arms?
I have never loved so much before,
And I don’t think that I can love more.
Baby let your heart guide you through,
Follow me, and I will follow you, too.
I would swim oceans to be with you,
I could lose it all but I can't lose you,
If you let me I will stand by your side,
Our whole life, until we die.

Aida Nielsen Poem
The lights in our eyes are different,
And our voices are not all the same,
Some people are richer than others,
Some people can walk and some can't.
Some people were born in a war zone,
And others were born in a castle,
Some people have never seen mountains,
Some people have flied to the moon.
Everyone we meet has a story
A hair color, a gender, a name,
Everybody we meet has secrets,
And a best friend that knows them all.
But in the end we are all the same,
We want to have peace and a clean name,
We all want to laugh, and sing, and dance
We all want love and happiness.

Aida Nielsen Poem
When she entered the church and they played the hymn,
She entered a world that belonged to him,
The song and the people were there to remind
Her of everything she had to leave behind.
She was wearing a beautiful white dress,
A symbol of desires she had to suppress.

Aida Nielsen Poem
You're like the pepper in food,
You make life spicy but good,
Too much of you is too strong,
Too little of you is just wrong.
With you every day is exciting,
It's either intense love or fighting,
Just like magnets with changing poles,
We're humans with restless souls.
With you it never gets boring,
You're selfish but also adoring,
You are like fire and ice,
The most beautiful spice.
One day when we'll both be old,
If I'm grumpy and shrinky and bold,
If I'm weak and I can't hold my pee,
I hope you'll still love me.

Aida Nielsen Poem
The moon in the early morning,
So tired of talking to the stars,
Faded and white, dusty and dry,
Ready to go, ready to die:
I lit the path when you walked,
I watched when you peacefully slept,
I gave you the light you needed,
And I hope you will do the same.
May you be light for your fellows,
May you be a candle of hope,
May you be a fire of love,
May you be a glow in the dark.
May you be sun for the others,
Light their path more than I lit yours,
Without the stars, to help you out,
Without the stars, to hold your hand.

Aida Nielsen Poem
Monday, the smell of dark roasted coffee,
And the sweet taste of a crunchy toffee,
Tuesday, the smell of hot chamomile tea,
And the taste of focaccia and brie,
Wednesday, the smell of a cold, angry lime,
And the sour taste of lemonade with thyme,
Thursday, the smell of a cinnamon roll,
And the taste that feels so good for my soul,
Friday, the smell of forest and pine trees,
And the taste of jam and aged blue cheese,
Saturday, the smell of ripe raspberries,
And the taste of dry, sour, red cranberries,
Sunday, the smell of freshly cut wet dill,
And the taste of potatoes on the grill.
