May you be light
The moon in the early morning,
So tired of talking to the stars,
Faded and white, dusty and dry,
Ready to go, ready to die:
I lit the path when you walked,
I watched when you peacefully slept,
I gave you the light you needed,
And I hope you will do the same.
May you be light for your fellows,
May you be a candle of hope,
May you be a fire of love,
May you be a glow in the dark.
May you be sun for the others,
Light their path more than I lit yours,
Without the stars, to help you out,
Without the stars, to hold your hand.
