You forgot to ask me who I am

You told me to put make-up on,
The more the better,
The more fake I look the better.

You forgot to ask me what I want,
What lights my eyes,
What draws my smile.

Yes, that is the essence of connection - discovering the heart of a friend. The contrast of disappointment you write, highlights the missed joy of real friendship. J
