Nine Dragons Poem
The Crown,
Where roost the winged idyllic dream
Diadem of power and the eternal gleam
Worn aloft the heart and mind
Marking such wayward vessels refined
Raising awareness of a being ascended
Today and henceforth befitting of a throne
No longer the stuff of mere flesh and bone
But the whim of divine law descended
Transcending mortal throw
Beacon of the people's heart
Banner of the people's mind
Flagged Pinnacle of their highest hope
The almighty triadic circlet of kings
Where sleeps the rarer compassion of loving queens
Carrying the weighty burden of prosperity
Bearing it ever forward and into eternity

Nine Dragons Poem
Thou hast not died
It was a call to battle, cried
Half naked, beaten numb
Now all the gates swung wide
An uprising lifts the oppressors thumb
Awake, the pulse's quickened pace,
Braced for the worst to come
Worn armor of a fearless face
Battered breast of a gleaming courage
Oh, relic'd wrists, fettered and braced
Hands that scooped the swilled porridge
Take up the sword of the fallen slaver
Grasp the hilt and wield the blade
Thine undinted valor has won favor
The gods would see such dens unmade
Follow the light down the rank corridor
Where the slavers have been laid low
Past those felled in honor and disgrace
Which, is which, only the angels know
Make haste away from this place
lest ye suffer some mortal blow
Runneth long,
Stayeth strong,
‘Mongst the living thou belong
As he runneth along
His breath, his pulse, beat the song
Fall upon the blessed banks of the river
Slake thy thirst, wash the grime from thy face
Let the sun sooth and dispel thy cold shiver
As the far off din gives way to lasting silence
Let thy weariness be borne away by winged sleep
As weeps joyfully thine undying self reliance
Upon pebbled banks where no mortal may stumble
Beside the river's ceaseless babble
The rolling skies distant rumble
Dream.
Dream the smiling faces thou lived for
The warming flames of the promise swore
To hold them in thine arms once more
Cross the threshold, the swung upon door
Their tears, their faces
They lent strength when thy pulse was weak
Midst dream thy heart races
A tender caress, her blushing cheek
Now that freedom has been found
They are of the lost years thou dost seek
Somewhere a cock’s morning crow
Thou doth arise envigored, refreshed and sound
From out of thy periphery
A stamping steed counts three
With a thudding upon the ground
Nickering beside a river bickering
Thou lookest towards the brilliant sun
And doth listen for the sounds of gods snickering
Upon their latest chosen one
Aback the shining steed
As black as closed eyes clothed in night
A saddle of rich fine leather gleamed
A jeweled bit shimmered bright
He stroked the silkened neck, real it seemed
Astride he sat like a humble knight
Spurless; he heeled, and tugged the reins
Over yon hills did his old life call
He trod mud and mists splashing as it rained
He would be there soon and by nightfall
Alive again; in loving arms
Happy toils regained
He would tread soft, the dread befell
No other dear hearts need be stained
Regaling his days served in hell
For all is well that ends well

Nine Dragons Poem
Upstairs; a bed with sleeping teddy bears
Downstairs; a table and two chairs
His sighs
His lonely eyes
The dim silent room
The snow falling through the gloom
The reflection in the window
Stare back upon
The one who in anger bid her go
Lamenting the hours she's been gone
And the shouting that seemed so long ago
Even pride can no longer recall
what winds brought the storm
nor how deep the rainfall
Not even knowing if she’s safe and warm
Then the creaking door
The room awash in sudden cold
He waits no more
For the darkness to unfold
Her, in his rush to hold her
Their eyes meeting as he enfold
Her, and his unashamed tear
Ponders his disgrace
As he wipes the same tear from her face
Midst the rapture of love's embrace
In passion's haste things were said
For anger's sake
-now anger is dead
In both their hearts
Where love left smouldering erupt in flame
And cupids darts
Linger without blame
In their quiver
his cheeks dewy
His bottom lip aquiver

Nine Dragons Poem
The shimmering rill stones
The clear babbling waters
The yellow meadow flowers
Dancing in the breezy dawn
He passed this way, he passed away
As thus, the bearded years pass on
The buried bones
The grieving daughters
Passing years fade like hours
On the grassy knoll, a memorial stone
Wreathed with yellow flowers
Below the hill
Lay his daughters still
In everlasting silent repose
The passing years fade like hours
Upon their graves, each; a yellow rose
None to hear them sing
None to marvel their glittered wing
As they’d lay midst, the meadow flowers
The passing years fade like hours
But they still remember
The morning dove, flying
And mortal love, undying

Nine Dragons Poem
Half the moon sits aloft the Jovian star
Its other half away in green pastures far
She sat leaning ‘neath the peering lights
That ever pervade such provoking nights
Are they dim, or are they bright
Small in stature or stood upon dizzying heights
From where she sat it was hard to tell
Then suddenly one fell
She traced it by its silver tail
As it illumed the hanging clouds
Then streaked across the glooming dale
Revealing the wandering shrouds
It tumbled down and out of sight
In a spiraling trail of rainbow light

Nine Dragons Poem
The Assassin:
What steel makes death but a prick
How sharp the blade to not shimmer red
Upon my dagger thy life runneth quick
To mingle in the river of the dead
A tawdry life, a bitter'd wife
An scant a copper more
How could a woman like me
Ignore her plea
To be the death of you
And your whore
But nigh is the time to make sense of the rhyme
A woman’s wrath is no soft poet
I’ve cleaned my blade in the bed they’ve made
And will be gone before the guards know it
The Wife:
The deed is done and in the light of the sun
I am haunted by both their shadows
Remembering the glee when he first loved me
As we roll in blossomed meadows
As for her, I cannot hate anymore
For all she had was her beauty
No husband, no Man, no future plan
No sense of wifely duty
She was more alone than I had grown
And longed for a gentle man
To not be the slander of men of ill manner
And but a queen upon her throne
To be seen for her heart and not as town tart
And in my coolness if I was not so mean
Maybe their flame never kindle and start
Maybe I could have foreseen
But I sit at his grave and recall a time
Where we loved each other and life
Now I will never forget my crime
Of being a spiteful wife

Nine Dragons Poem
That bright spark from ever folding inner night
That effulgence that escapes through the eyes
And assures the brain we are upward and right
That flame's flicker that never dies
That grants vigor to those weary
That wander ever toward its light
The shaded light we were taught to dim
That grace the heads of angels and cherubim
But fill those with fear that ever walk the dark
Fearing our light make falsehood an easy mark
Enough of catering to secrets and lies
Enough of averting the light in our eyes
We are that lantern that lead the way
Toward a future free of ransoms to pay
Where virtues like honor and compassion
Are pillars and not an old trending fashion
Where valor and sacrifice alight paradise
And loyalty is not for sale at any price
Where if we choose it, our light becomes day
If we refuse it, darkness can't obstruct the way
No one cloaked in shadow has ever had good to say
Only where to look for the truth that lies hid away
If you play with matches, you may get burned
It's one of the simplest and earliest truths learned
The same goes for darkness and wand'ring ‘midst shadow
There, whispers won't remind you of your inner glow
Lost in the ever folding inner night
Alone with fears and doubts to fight
And the feeling or memory that something's not right
You're right, life's an illusion, and you made of light
It's why the masses flock to you
The simple measure of what is true
Flickering in the now, breathing in the now
Making shining in the present our vow
Lead the way Lanterns!
Make that promise now!

Nine Dragons Poem
Tears streaming down
Rains soft token
Imagine how I was found
To have magic'ly woken
In the streets of
This rainy town
Peering up above
Knees on the ground
Passed by unseen
Or avoided
Where have I been?
Dreams distorted
The street noises
The smell of pain
And suffering
mingled voices
Polite and feign
Time stuttering
Unwilled choices
To keep living
To one day die
Still believing
Above the skies
Whilst all the while
Living lies
No one dies
No one dies
I hear the cries
They've made me wise
We'll do this again
When next we sleep
In the next rain
Our souls to reap

Nine Dragons Poem
As the rose sleeps
The fragrance steeps
The night’s somber rain
And somewhere a sunrise as sweet
Young lovers hearts awake complete
And unbroken whilst I groan in twain
For in my hour weaves a moonless night
Upon which the scattered stars fall dim
And grief's lost shadow haunts my sight
Wandering where once she loved him

Nine Dragons Poem
Life is fleeting
A chance meeting
Timelessly occurring
Where stale chance needs stirring
In crowded but lonely supermarket aisles
Where cupid's arrow, in varied styles
Fit any need that may arise
Yes, 'twould seem love is on the rise
----: End of Prologue :---
Eyes blinded by the heart below
Gladden'd pain from the deepened arrow
With hearts trailing from cupid's bow
Made to cause collisions in aisles narrow
Never seen nor heard is the fluttering of wings
Nor seem it strange the symphonies' strainings
Drowning out the brain's sensible sputterings
For quick and speedy exit,
As our defenses
Have been caught undressed
At some unknown behest
Perhaps even our own heart
Has, in some ill-timed betrayal, taken part
Lo, though my brain dared not believe it
Run you fool, make haste!
Too late tho, for speeding towards him,
Loosed from the bow of that fluttering cherubim,
Another arrow, trailing hearts, raced.
A bullseye! Silencing fight or flee,
And the brains panicked intensity
Calming and awakening instead
The myriad possibilities for romantic intimacy
Our eyes met
And I couldn’t get-
The words out
All that I could see
Is what everyone sees
All my faults and insecurities,
And then she said, hello
And suddenly I was atop a rainbow
(I didn’t make my saving throw)
So high and dizzy enough to fall
But, I was up here after all
Hi, sorry about that, I chuckled Nervously
An insecurity recognized universally
But she smiled back, her lips were burgundy
Her teeth where like rows of little white angels
Sparkling.
She cozied up, our shopping carts-
Touched and aligned
Though, nervously to my nerdy doom resigned
She said, she saw me shopping here before
but hadn't really thought to say anything.
Yeah, that time I broke that jar of jam on the floor
Yeah, that day was so crazy and everything.
We both laughed and just stood there a while
I couldn’t keep my mind off her beautiful smile
Her eyes seems to linger and whisper to me
My heart seemed powerless to break free
And why should I run?
She may well be the one
Let just wait and see
So, since we’ve broken the ice, it might be nice
To maybe take in a dinner and a show
I mean, its alright if maybe another night,
Or if maybe, right now, you have to go
She said no, there's no where I really need to be
And dinner and a show sounds like fun to me
And then I died
Or at least I tried
Instead, I said, great then its a date, and wanted to bite my tongue
But she cut in
And for the win
Great, you can pick me up ‘round eight.
And that's how we met and I have no regrets
As five years and two kids should imply
She’s just the bestest thing to ever grace a wedding ring
And I’ll love her till the day I die
(And likely forever after)
(Happily)
