Our Love Story

If I were to write a book
About my love for you
It would be a never-ending story
If I could paint a portrait
Of how you look in my eyes
It would be a masterpiece
If I were to write a song
Singing of our love
The words would be deep and touching
If I received a dime
For each thought of you
During the course of the day
I would be rich
And share all that I have with you
No oceans, mountains, or walls
Could keep me away from you
I would risk all
Just to see you smile
To me, our love
Is the greatest love story never told

Good-Bye Is Never Easy

Saying good-bye is never easy
When it comes to someone you love
You don't want to let them go
But you know it's for the best
Tears fill your eyes
As you whisper I love you
And you choke on the words
When you try to say good-bye
You sit there, still holding their hand
As memories flash through your mind
Love, hugs, and kisses from them
Christmases filled with happiness
Dinners cooked with love
Holidays spent with the family
Sounds of laughter as stories were told
Gatherings with family from near and far
And more memories of a lifetime
Spent with the loved one
Saying good-bye is never easy
When it come to someone you love

A Mid-Summer's Night

A warm breeze blows through my hair
As I walk down the well worn path
The moon above illuminates the way
Casting it's light around me
The crickets chirp in the tall grass
Playing their night time melody
Up ahead I can hear the water
Lap against the shore of the lake
The lake where I first met her
The place where I fell in love
As I walk along the beach
The cool sand under my feet
Memories of her come rushing at me
The walks on a mid-summer's night
Holding hands, feeling complete
I walk out onto the wooden pier
Where we shared our first kiss
With the moon and stars above
As our only witness
I close my eyes and can almost hear
The sounds of our laughter
Echoing across the water
A tear slips from my eye
Leaving a salty trail along my cheek
For there is no more laughter in my life
Opening my eyes, I look to the sky
Wondering if she can see me
On this mid-summer's night
For she is with me in my heart

I Am No Different

In your eyes I am considered to be different
Another outcast in today's society
The reason being who I am
Another typical stereotyped dyke
Bu I am no different from you
I seek the same things you do
A good education, a job, and love
Someone with whom to share my life with
Just because I may love another woman
It is no different than the love
Shared between a man and woman
So don't laugh and point at me
Because I am not the same as you
Deep down inside we are the same
Both looking for someone to love
For someone who returns that love
To be married someday and start a family
After all, I am no different from you

You Were Loved

Why have you left me
All alone in this world
We were supposed to be
Spending our life together
We had so many plans
Our life laid out before us
My love for you was strong
But it wasn't enough
For you gave up on life
Gave up on us
I wish I could hate you
For leaving me behind
But I don't, I can't
I hate the one who took you
The man who went for a drive
After a night of drinking with his buddies
He was the one who ruined our life
Because of him, you are gone
And I remain here on earth
So sad and alone without you
I'll always love you
You'll always be in my heart
If you can hear me up above
Know that you were always loved
That I will forever cherish
The time we did have
I love you
Now I must move on

Unrequited Love

Oh how I long to tell you
Just how much you mean to me
How I love you so
Your short brown hair
I long to run my fingers through
Your deep mesmerizing brown eyes
I want to lose myself in
Your soft lips
I long to feel on my own once more
The way our bodies fit perfectly together
As we dance to the rhythm of the music
Oh how I love your smile
That seems to radiate your whole being
When you laugh at something I said
It's like music to my ears
The sound of your soft voice
Is like a haunting melody
I wish that you could love me
But you only love me as a friend
Oh how I wish that love
Was so much more
But my love for you
Shall remain unrequited
My love for you
Is one you shall never know

Breaking Through

So many times my heart has been broken
I don't think this heart of mine
Could handle another heartache
I've built up these walls
Surrounding my heart
But then one day
You entered my life

And slowly you started chipping away
Slowly you're breaking through
For when I look into your eyes
I can see into your soul
And I want to love again
I want to let you in
But I'm scared

The day you took my hand
And held me close to you
I felt myself falling
I didn't know what to do
It's been so long
Since I felt this feeling

And slowly you started chipping away
Slowly you're breaking through
For when I look into your eyes
I can see into your soul
And I want to love again
I want to let you in
But I'm scared

Now the walls are crumbling
You've broken through
My heart is healing, girl
And it's all because of you

You've chipped the wall away
You finally broke through
When I look into your eyes
I can see into your soul
And now I'm loving again
I finally let you in
And I'm not scared
Anymore

Getting To Know You

I want to get to know you
The woman that you are
All the things you love
All your little quirks
The little things
That make up who you are
I want to know
All your favorite things
To know what makes you happy
To know what makes you sad
As I get to know you
I will tell you all about me
I hope that someday we will meet
And when we do
We can get to know each other more

Anticipation

I wait in anticipation
To look deep into your eyes
Only to lose myself in them
I wait in anticipation
Of our first kiss
To feel your lips on mine
I wait in anticipation
To hold you in my arms
Holding you close to me
I wait in anticipation
To feel your skin against my own
To feel our hearts beat together
I wait in anticipation
To finally meet the woman
Who puts a smile on my face
I wait in anticipation
For all this and more

Start Anew

I look at my life
And what do I see
Nothing here to tie me down
No job, no woman, not a thing
I realize now it's time
To pack my things
And up and leave
To get out of this town
And start anew
I know there's got to be
Something better waiting for me
It's time I spread my wings
Fly away from here
For I hear my calling
And it's out there somewhere
Somewhere my life is waiting
Waiting to begin
