Your Eyes Haunt Me

You made me cry,
Your actions hurt my heart,
I should’ve known,
We were broken from the start.
I thought I knew you,
But you aren’t who I thought you were,
You’re heartless,
And a monster.
I loved you,
You didn’t want me,
Now, whenever I look at you,
Your eyes haunt me.

Time for Champagne

Love will always end in heartbreak,
Maybe only for me, at least.
Now I sit and drink by myself,
Out in the bleak night, my eyes stare,
Putting the pain into champagne.

Angels With No Wings

Her heart has been broken so many times,
And her eyes have cried so many tears,
That nothing bothers her anymore,
You’ll never see her cry.
She keeps to herself,
She blends in with everyone else now,
Because every time her heart broke,
A feather fell from her angel wings.
She may not act the same as before,
But she’s still the same person,
An angel without her wings.

Enough

They’re never happy,
The world’s selfish hands always expect more,
I’m never enough,
And I probably never will be.
I just want to be loved,
Without being asked to change,
They’ve all let me down so far,
I’m not enough for them.
All of them eventually turn their backs on me,
My heart has been broken so much,
That the words “I love you “,
Are starting to sound like a lie.
I wish I was as beautiful as the other girls,
And that people would stop calling me ugly,
But that’ll never happen,
Because I’m still not enough.
The world crushed me,
All those words are bullets,
Shot straight through my shattered heart,
Passing through every ventricle.
I can’t handle all the curveballs,
Thrown at me one after another,
They force me to put on a brave face,
But I’m not strong enough.
I just want someone to hug me,
And tell me I’m enough,
But I know they won’t,
Because I’m never enough.

Lost Cause

A plethora of knots came undone,
An amazing friendship torn apart,
Now she holds the loaded gun,
With it pointed straight at my heart,
Heavy clouds block the sun,
You were a lost cause from the very start.

Heartbeat

We heard your heartbeat,
The sound of a strong heart,
They gave me pictures of you,
And I couldn’t help but smile.
Day by day you grow,
You get stronger every day,
We can’t wait to finally meet you,
I long to hold you in my arms.
We don’t know what gender you are,
But we’re ready to love you,
We’re getting your room ready,
And I’m picking out your name.
We went back to the doctor today,
Excited to see how much you’ve grown,
But our excitement faded away,
When the nurse went silent.
We drive home in complete silence,
Tears stinging both our eyes,
Our whole lives changed,
When she told me there’s no heartbeat.

The Sound of Heartbreak

A year of friendship,
Destroyed in a single day,
My heart is breaking as you drive away.
Every memory of us comes rushing back to me,
But something is different about them,
They’re all full of sadness.
My heart beats faster every minute,
Longing for more oxygen,
To replace the air lost as I hyperventilate.
I can’t hear anything,
Except for the sound of my own heart breaking,
As if it’s separating from the parts that you were in.

I Am

You have no idea who I am,
I am not the one who’ll move the mountains,
I am the one trying to climb them,
And I am not happy with myself.
I am a stranger in my own body,
I am everyone’s punching bag,
I am constantly being used,
And I am always being chewed up and spit out.
I am not who you think I am,
I am far from who I want to be,
I am not someone’s everything,
I am everyone’s nothing.
I am just another star in the sky,
I am but a moment in time,
I am a grain of sand on a beach,
And I am a drop in the ocean.
I am not done with this world yet,
Even though the world is done with me,
I am still a diamond in the rough,
And I am not done writing my story yet.

Heaven and Hell

A single thought runs through my head,
As I wonder what went wrong,
My friends must think I’m dead,
They haven’t heard from me in so long.
I tried to walk, but I fell,
The road to heaven goes through miles of hell.

If You Cared Enough

You said you loved me,
But you still left me,
And you took a piece of me with you,
And I want it back.
I gave you my heart,
But you broke it,
You took a sledgehammer to it,
And left me to pick it up piece by piece.
If you really loved me,
You would’ve accepted me,
If you cared enough,
You’d still smile at me.
Whenever I pass you,
You don’t even look at me,
Your eyes are cold,
And your heart is hardened.
In my hardest time,
You knocked me down,
You left me for dead,
With not one iota of emotion on your face.
From someone I know to someone I knew,
In the blink of an eye,
If you cared enough,
You’d still be here.
