Meeting On the Dance Floor

Music playing in her head
As she saw him glide to her side of the room
She gave him a warm smile
And a "Hi, how you doing?" hug
He looked her in the eyes
And with a flirtious smile
Asked her dance
She politiely turned him down
But she insisted instead
She told him she had two left feet
He said that's fine, just follow me
So they glided across the dance floor,
Him leading the way
She whispered in his ear
How about a date
She slipped him her number
And said call right away
And this was the beginning of a beautiful friendship
That turned into a relationship
That lasted forever til this very day

Inside the Mind of a Teenager

My head is held high
Despite what I'm going thru
I won't cry
Because it doesn't solve anything
I like to look at life
And say things will get better
Like to tell myself
That I can face the stormy weather
I know that God has my back
And my smile will soon return
Wondering is anyone listening
And does anybody know who I really am
A lot of people would say
She just another teenager
But come to find out
That things are quite different
Despite my situation
I laugh and not cry
My head is held high
My God only know why
I sat awake at night
Crying silent tears
And just why I have so many fears
And he comforts me in the midst
God I love you
And through this I say
I trust you through my circumstance

Lights! Camera! Action!

sunshine
bright lights
they all look the same
spotlight
stage
my home away from home
a song in my throat
sorrow surrounding my heart
the mic
is my only comfort
when i open my mouth
and sing those familiar melodies
all fears leave
spotlight on me
like Tupac
all eyes on me
not a rapper
but my rhymes
and lyrics will have you hype
never put you to sleep
bright lights
sunshine
they all look the same

Two Roads,Which One Will You Take?

Two roads,one decision
Which way should I go?
One road says easy,
The other says hard.
But which way to go.
Life brings hard trials
But without them
Life wouldn't be the same
Two roads,one decision
Which way should I go?
One road says easy,
The other says hard.
But which way to go?
I'm going to take the hard road,
Because every time the burden gets heavy
I get a little bit stronger.
Every time a friend turns his/her back,
I find a new and sometimes better one.
Two roads,one decision
Which way should I go?
One road says easy,
The other says hard.
But which way to go?
I have came to my decision
But which path will you take?

Welcome 2011,Good-Bye 2010

I turn pain into songs
I turn life into stories
Defeats into triumphs
Situations into poems

I have to admit
This year hasn't been the easiest
And by far has been the most challenging
But through it all,
I've made it.

I turn tears into smiles
I turn fear into bravery
Depression into joy
Hate into love

I have never understood
Why God has taken me through so much
But I know it is all for a greater purpose
And an even higher understanding of His Love

I dedicate this to my grandmother
To my family
To all my friends
To those who have struggled this year
2011 is definitely going to be better

I have faith and pray that you believe
Just as I believe
That God has the power to change things...
Welcome 2011, Good-bye 2010

If Only I Could

If I only I could regain the moments we shared,
Then things would be different,
If only I could have listened more as you were talking
I wouldn't be trying to remember them so hard.
If only I had said my farewells
I wouldn't still feel the pain that I feel.
If only I could have eased the suffering,
Maybe you would be here.
If only I could hear your voice,
Then I wouldn't have to shed a tear,
If only you were here,
I wouldn't have to find an escape to the pain,
If only you could whisper to me now,
I wouldn't be sitting here with tears in my eyes.
If only I could see you,
Things would be better.
But since I can't,
Continue to watch over me,
And to smile upon me,
Continue to help me keep the memories of you alive,
Continue to be there with me --- even in spirit
If only, is the only thing I really have left to say.

Pleasure,Passion,Pain

Intimate conversations on the phone
Beautiful rendezvous on the beach
Sweet kisses, candles everywhere
Inscences burning, smooth jazz playing
The melodies and harmonies
Say everything that's in their hearts
                                                   Pleasure.......
Rings uniting their souls
Soon wedding bells will toll
Each 'I love you'
Sweeter everytime it's said
The sound of each other warms their heart
Smiles creep across each face
                                                   Passion........
But soon all this began to fade
No one had a reason why
The phone calls became more distant
The kisses less passionate
The love seem to be dying
                                                   Pain.......

A Failing Romance (Pt. I)

Memories dance in her head
As she waited for his flight to land
She remembered their first date
The first time they held hands
The first time they kissed
The first time they said 'I love you'
It was long overdue for her to see him
     (Meanwhile)
He dreaded his flight was going to land
He knew it was wrong
But he had found someone who he loved dearly
He loved his high school sweetheart
But the new person was everything
He'd been looking for
They'd spent so much time together
The past two weeks
     (He gets off the plane...)
She runs to greet him
Only to stop in her tracks
And see him holding on to another woman
Her first instinct was to cry
But she chose not to jump to conclusions
And run to greet him
Maybe she was just a friend
     (He spots her...)
How am I going to explain this?
She is going to be crushed
Maybe I can still keep this a secret
But that would only make it worse
Only time will tell
But I love her
But I also love this woman too
What to do, what to do?

TO BE CONTINUED......

Yung Soldier (Pt. I)

She holds her head high,
Never cry.
Hide herself from the world
A mask she controls well
Smile and laugh
She tells herself
Hide the pain and hurt
They'll never understand
Even if you tried to tell your story
Yung soldier
Yung soldier
No one will ever know
That you've wanted to go AWOL
Or just quit it all
Family could care less
This is all a mess
No outlet, just her and her emotions
But no time to shed a single tear
Because to the world she hasn't a fear
At least that's what she wants them to believe
A mask she designed all to well
She looks at life as a challenge
Alll the things she must balance
Yung soldier
Yung soldier
No one will ever know
That you wanted to go AWOL
Or just quit it all.

My Love,My Life,My Husband

I never have to wonder about you, You are always here for me, Even when I push you away. This has always puzzled me, How could it be that I've found something So real in you, that I couldn't find in anyone else? You make me realize That love is actually real, And I can't believe that You could love me for me. I never have to wonder about you, You are always here for me Even when I push you away. And although we're miles apart, I feel like we're only inches, Almost as though I can feel your breath on my neck Your fingertips on my cheeks, Your lips upon mine, Your skin touching mine... You actually convinced me, That there is someone actually out there just for me. And I somehow realize That if we were to ever part, I might cry Because you mean just that much to me, You are my love, my life, my husband
