Katrina, the Memory of Yesterday

Katrina is the memory of yesterday
Once a reality, now a dream of today.
Her destruction of disaster she sent about
Leaving the gulf of catastrophies with-out.
Properties damaged and most lifes are gone
Survivors are making it, as help continues to grow strong.

Although, their lifes have been shattered apart
As they try to pull together their damaged hearts.
For katrina has destroyed their memories of yesterday
Leaving them with a reality dream of today.
Katrina is a memory, a reality dream
A destruction catastrophy, a disaster theme.

A dream foretold of a disaster made known
For katrina is the memory that lives on.
Who knows tomorrow what their lifes will be
Filled with heartakes from this catastrophy.
Once a reality, now a dream of yesterday
Katrina is the memory of today.

When It's Hard To Say Good-Bye

When it's hard to say good-bye
with questions unanswered I wonder why.
You had to leave and go away
and the pain you felt I now feel today.
Within time I know I'll try
to ease my pain and say good-bye.

But my memories I'll hold of you
and in my heart you'll be there too.
I'll think of you each passing day
and to God I will continue to pray.
But someday we'll be together again
and we'll be united as we were back then.

When the doves are set free
you are the angel watching over me.
I see the tear fall from your eye
as you say your final last good-bye.
I guess I'll never know why
It's so hard to say good-bye.

So spread your wings and fly free
for you have made it to the world of eternity.
And now your pain has gone away
but I know your with God today.
Good-bye is hard for me to say
but in time my pain will go away.

The Name You Bare

You got it from your father he gave it to you
The name you bare came honest and true.
To carry on and protect his name
And stand proud without no shame.
The name you bare he gave it to you
For you to use your whole life through.

Treat it with respect cause someday you will be
Able to give it to your son just as he.
Use it wisely and you will come to see
The name you wear is your life's treasury.
It's a medal of honor that you wear
It can never be replaced the name you bare.

Someday you'll hold his picture and look into his eyes
And know the real meaning behind the name inside.
Then you'll be proud of the name he gave to you
And you will wear it honest and true.
So pass it on to your son for him to wear
And he will carry on the name that you bare.

Old Blue

Old blue has been worn out and worn back in
Been worked on all over again and again.
It's been through the heat, rain, and cold
Survived the hard times of being old.
It's paint job is peeling and fading away
Old blue is a tractor that we use every day.

The seat is wobbly and missing the foam
The fenders are bent and the horn is gone.
Old blue is old and been through hell
But, it's still kickin and doing well.
Sometimes I think it's had enough
Old blue may be old, but it's tough.

When I think it's finally reached the end
It perks back up and starts again.
Old blue has been worn out and worn back in
Been worked on all over again and again.
Old blue is a tractor that grew old in time
That survived the hard times, and this tractor's mine.

Living In Hell

Yesterday I was happy and free
Today I'm behind bars in misery.
I was cuffed and booked and thrown into jail
Busted for drugs now, I'm living in hell.
I'm living in hell for comitting a crime
The price I'm paying is cold hard time.

The judge won't even hear my plea
He says the price for drugs is misery.
I can't even find a lawyer to take my case
So, behind prison bars is what I'll face.
I'm living in hell for drugs is a crime
Living in hell and still doing time.

I'm behind prison bars and living drug free
Paying the price that caught up with me.
So, If you deal with drugs you're headed for hell
And the price you'll pay is locked down in a jail.
I'm living in hell for drugs is a crime
Living in hell and still doing time.
