The Name You Bare
You got it from your father he gave it to you
The name you bare came honest and true.
To carry on and protect his name
And stand proud without no shame.
The name you bare he gave it to you
For you to use your whole life through.
Treat it with respect cause someday you will be
Able to give it to your son just as he.
Use it wisely and you will come to see
The name you wear is your life's treasury.
It's a medal of honor that you wear
It can never be replaced the name you bare.
Someday you'll hold his picture and look into his eyes
And know the real meaning behind the name inside.
Then you'll be proud of the name he gave to you
And you will wear it honest and true.
So pass it on to your son for him to wear
And he will carry on the name that you bare.
