Mathew Sturgeon Poem
I realize that I cut you deep
With this awful words I said
Those words now permanent
Living forever in your head
If you happen to forgive me
Those words stuck in your brain
Will forever be playing over
As they continue causing pain
No matter how much I try
Those words will not erase
You'll be reminded with pain
Every time you see my face
How can you ever love me
After everything that i said
We are victims of my words
And our love is now dead

Mathew Sturgeon Poem
Every morning I wake up,
Depression blanketing me.
It feels like I'm unable
To get away or be free.
I don't know if I can
Keep doing this anymore.
Every day seems to become
Even more of a chore.
I don't know how to get better.
I can't escape this dark place.
I can no longer keep
This fake smile on my face.
Life keeps getting worse
More and more each day.
I have no clue how to
Stop it or make it go away.
Every day this darkness
Finds its way inside of me,
Constantly tormenting me.
Why won't it let me be?
I don't have the strength
To pick myself up off the floor,
And I don't think I want
To save myself anymore.

Mathew Sturgeon Poem
From the moment that we met
you began pulling my heart away
Just that text or call from you
Will easily enlighten my day
Now I look at your picture
Your beauty still makes me smile
My heart and I are attracted to you
To say otherwise would be denial
When you tell me of your struggles
It makes my heart hurts for you
If I can make your life better
Please tell me what I need to do
From making you coffee in the morning
To the dinner I prepare at night
And everything that's in between
The smile you give me is a delight
We're still getting to know each other
But I'm wrapped around your finger
Reminding me of an old emotion
The remembrance of love does linger
That four letter word I've sworn
That I was never going to say
I removed it from my vocabulary
But It was returned on this day
This is nothing I want to rush
But I believe I found happiness
You being in my life has made
My heart overflow with bliss

Mathew Sturgeon Poem
Are only 3 years of marriage
We have both come to know
We can't continue this anymore
Its time one of us must go
Understand it's difficult for me
To be walking out that door
But it hurts me to stay here
And continue to hurt you more
Know that I truly do love you
But I don't know how to love you
I put the pain on your face
And I know it's in your heart too
To show you how much I care
I'll tell you what I'm going to do
I'm packing all my things
Then I'm going to divorce you
It's gonna break your heart
But I'll never hurt you again
And in time you find a new love
A d your story with him will begin
And though I'm dying inside
I must tell you goodbye
Please move on and enjoy life
I'm going to sit here and cry

Mathew Sturgeon Poem
I tried to be good as a kid
But it never worked out for me
If there was any kind of trouble
Right in the middle is where I'd be
I tried to escape it but I never did
Trouble was like a shadow to me
Like a mosquito on a summer night
Trouble would never let me be
I tried to be like everyone else
And I didn't argue or even fight
But no matter how much I tried
I was always in troubles sight
I tried to talk myself out of it
That made the spankings worse
Even as an adult I cannot hide
I'm caught in troubles curse

Mathew Sturgeon Poem
Last night was no different
I cried myself to sleep again
I haven't fallen asleep peacefully
Since cannot remember when
My broken heart it pains me
And I can't keep the tears away
Maybe my heart will heal soon
But today will not be that day
I'm empty without your love
Im left feeling barren inside
It's not just a broken heart
It's a part of my soul that died
Maybe I loved you more
Then I could ever show
I believe I may love you
More than even I know
Know im lonely without you
I'm clinging to your memory
I think it makes this worse
I've been consumed by misery

Mathew Sturgeon Poem
This immense pain in my chest
Has my heart aching and breaking
There's a hurricane of hurt in me
All the pain it is giving I'm taking
With gale force winds of sadness
Causing swells of tears in my eye
As I'm holding on for dear life
I ask myself the reason why
Why couldn't I love you more
Why was it that we had to fight
Why couldn't i make us work
Why can't I make this right
I've been sitting here wondering
If you'll come home someday
Will this pain in me subside
Its causing my mind to fray
I'm caught in this hurricane
It seems all hope is lost
But I'll keep holding on to you
No matter what the cost

Mathew Sturgeon Poem
You're more than my lover,
You're also my guiding light,
Brightening my whole world,
There's no darkness in sight.
With you it seems to me
My soul has found its place,
Where I never feels alone
In your love's tender embrace.
And with only a touch
You set my world on fire,
Melting away all my fears
While setting free my desire
For that of your lips,
Delivering your tender kiss,
Making me all but lost
In our love's pure bliss.
With every breath that I take
My love feels more true.
All these years and troubles
Our love has made it through.
It will always and forever
Continue to brightly shine
For you, my beautiful wife,
My heart's dearest Valentine.

Mathew Sturgeon Poem
I'm lying here tonight
All alone in this bed
My memories of you
Dance through my head.
They cause my tears
To fall down like rain
Why do your memories
Have to come with pain?
My favorite memory of us
It hurts me most of all
It's the one that will
Always make me bawl.
It squeezes my heart
With all it can strain
And laughs as I fall down
Unable to endure the pain.
The tears keep falling
And the pain to build
But my love for you
Refuses to ever yield.
Though this heartbreak
I continue to love you still
Only when I stop loving you
Will these wounds ever heal.

Mathew Sturgeon Poem
When I was a kid, about ten,
Living in a very small town,
The streets were all gravel,
And I was free until sundown.
I would leave the house each day,
Ride my bike to get my friend,
And we would race across town,
All four blocks from end to end.
The only places we went
Were the park or the little store.
We got two pieces of gum
For a quarter, sometimes more.
Pedaling like hell to get away,
We were outlaws on the run.
The park only had two swings,
But those monkey bars were fun.
We'd go home when hungry,
Eat, then be back out the door.
That big taste of freedom
In that small town we'd explore.
Never once was there a worry
Until the sun started to fade.
When the street light came on,
My curfew had been made.
I'd tell my buddy goodbye
And make my way back home.
A little kid who felt grown
In that tiny town I'd roam.
