Words Cut Deep

I realize that I cut you deep
With this awful words I said
Those words now permanent
Living forever in your head

If you happen to forgive me
Those words stuck in your brain
Will forever be playing over
As they continue causing pain

No matter how much I try
Those words will not erase
You'll be reminded with pain
Every time you see my face

How can you ever love me
After everything that i said
We are victims of my words
And our love is now dead

An almost yearning to be forgiven, and the words forgotten. Our memories for better or worse play a track. Yes, we can forgive, and many do, but occasionally or often for some, those awful memories return to haunt. Congratulations on POTW!

Words are one of the most dangerous weapons humans have one moment of anger or frustration can live with a person all their life. Thank you and im glad you enjoyed my poem

Even when forgiven, harsh words seem to linger. They're attached to the brain somehow. Replacing those words with something positive helps when trying to move on. It can be a little challenging though. Your thoughts touch my heart. Congratulations Matthew, on Poem of the Week. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy
