Let the decision stand

The sphere of influence is as big as the globe
"To stand by things decided"
We're obligated to follow precedents
What happened before the cold war,
Influences the decisions made in today's courts
Questions and arguments rise for this principle
Yet echoes of the dead say "let justice be served"

"Stare decisis"
Is it up to scratch?
It ensures uniform application of the law
Not like any random inconsistent policy,
The law is as consistent as waves kissing the shore
To let the decision stand is to be class
And class is permanent
It does not consider the environment
Though there is a little space for improvement

Law deals with precedents
Just a different time of incidence
Our lives are guided by how our ancestors were judged
Case law, went through criticism and survived
No one is above the law!
We shall live by it
Stare decisis!!

My emotional identity

I met you on a Saturday morning
On a queue to apply for IDs
I have since had my identity
Not just the card but the real inner feelings identity
That Knows I belong to you..

You must be a gift from God
That perfect description of love from
Song of Solomon 2:2 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
Girl you have identity
I am looking in the mirror wishing I was Jay z
So I went outside and dated a girl called Beyonce
But you, you're beyond that

If my heart was a country, that makes you the president
I'm down to give you first class treatment
I learned from my dad that a woman should
Be treated like a queen especially if they make you feel like a king!
See, love reciprocates and we all live better
Girl you look better, you smile better

I don't wanna say things I'm not sure of, like weather forecast
I don't have to assume
See, I'm sure that I wanna wake up next to you for the rest of my days
Through all the garbage that comes with life, I'm down

If I would play you music
I would use a flute
See, I will be kissing you and you breathe me in while listening
I don't ever want to make you cry
I don't want those eyes wet
But I would do anything to make elsewhere wet
See, I don't want you to cry while rejecting me
I want you to cry better, when I'm on top
See, we are a power couple let's stay on top
Nobody is better than you and me

This is a love poem
This is the one that I wrote when l was in my feelings poem
The "ohh she might like this" poem
This is for you!

The Girl From The Saloon Down The Road

Growing up in Zimbabwe
I always thought l was cursed
Everyone had seen an angel in someone
And l didn't, until l took that gaze upon a
Light skinned beauty.

Okay, the girl from the saloon down the road
I'm Atipaishe, probably you haven't heard that name
I know, it's not formal but I think it counts
As an introduction
For me not to know your name, l take the blame
I remember correctly, l saw you on the 12th of July
At 12.57 pm, l never thought l would write this poem

So, ever since that day, spent so much time
Thinking how l was going to be man enough to say "Hi"
So l marked my calendar on the 24th so that I could come, l came and said Hi then went back home
I didn't even hear you reply, my heart was already
Celebrating, You did it man!!
I went back home was a happy fellow
That moment replayed in my mind the whole damn time.
I was happy that lm normal
That at least I've seen an angel in someone like everyone does.

It's crazy that I still don't know your name
I made up names for you like Cookie, Channel
They're so many.
They start with "C" so that maybe l gained confidence
I did it all because l was too shy to ask
I'm sorry but l swear lm not a stalker
Everything is weird for the first timers
It's my first time having to interact with angels
I'm clumsy
Please forgive me.

I said lm not a stalker,
I just pass by your saloon at least 7 times a day
I will be hoping, l see you smiling
When l get bored in my room with Tom and Jerry
I come and pass by so that l get happy again
I get happy, go home and think about you still
I pray you recognize me when l finally get the guts
I hope our skin tones blend when we take pictures
I want us to have 23 children so that you be occupied and leave the saloon
Most importantly I want you to say that you like my hair style and you wish to maintain it
I wanna hear you say "l think l like you too"

I'm a guitar

I'm a guitar

So a craftsman made a guitar
Eight years later he died
Before anyone mastered it
Now it's playing well
Many love it but a few understand it
So who will repair the guitar?

The guitar maker or should l say dad
Who does that?
Make a creation and just disappear
Honestly l used to hate you for that
I don't know maybe l still do
We don't have to pretend that we're cool
Only if you could hear me now
But you can't because you're dead!
Dead! Dad how could you leave us for the grave?

So l had to learn to ride a bike by myself
At first, l fell and missed you even more
I thought you would come back, pick me up and
Say "you got this son" l waited and waited
Dude you never came back
I tried for the second time, the bike wasn't easy
Trust me l broke my hand
That moment still reminds
My soul that l don't meet anyone's demands

The third time, l had the guts
I rode the bike to places for the first time
Places like that science fair you didn't attend
Places like that father and son vacation
Places like teaching me how to wear a belt
Places like the graveyard you lay
Dad, it feels nice to finally say it
I missed you my whole childhood
I wanted to see you in that 7th grade picture
I wish you was here man..I.. I'm sry

So now the guitar you made plays
It plays beautiful melodies that goes with synonyms
It's music everytime l write poetry
Your guitar or your son is doing well
I really hope you continue to rest in peace!
Dad
