Cards

Cards

I played my cards
And a queen is
How I treated you.

But instead of me
Being your king.
I was your joker
Your fool.

I got a bad hand
This much is true
But I will shuffle
The deck and
Have a redo.

And the next hand
I get, may just be
The winning one.
Where I have a queen,
And treat her as such.
And she treats me like her
King
instead of a joker or Fool.

So I did have a losing hand
And lost this round.
But God in my corner I get
To play again.
But this time I know I will win.

To the One

To the One

To the one who broke
My heart and this ring
You will never wear.

Only a woman pure and
Follows God deserves
my heart.
And this ring I share.

You played me with your
Words and brought nothing
But pain And tears.

But if it wasn’t for you
I never would have
Found my way back to him.

So you were a lesson
and Blessing in disguise.
I learned not to trust words
But look at actions too.

And thank you for leading
Me down a long painful
Path. that Led me back
to God and salvation too.
Amen.

Flags

Flags

One flag. Two flags
Three flags. Four

The red flags were
Popping up.
But I chose to ignore.

From no pictures together
Or letting the world know
That I was your man
And you were my girl.

I fell for you hard and told
You my fears. And you said
You were different
And I had nothing to fear
Because we were perfect for
Each other. And I would not
Shed a tear.

But here I am now. Going
Through the pain.
Because I fell in love
With someone who didn’t
feel the same.

Your words melted my heart
But your actions proved true
You just wanted me for what
I could do for you.

Now your with another man
And I’m not even a second
Thought.
I should have paid attention
To those flags.
And maybe now I wouldn’t
Have a broken heart.

Roses

Roses

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I sent you flowers
To work just to show
My love for you.

I wrote you poetry
And I tried to learn
To dance too.
To make you happy and
Put a smile on your face.

You told me that other
Men never treated you
This way.
With all the compliments
And love that I had displayed

But unfortunately to my
Dismay.
You never had feelings for me
Well at least not in a loving way

But as long as roses still bloom
And God gives me another day.
I will continue to love with my heart
And not turn cold with a heart of
Stone.

I have my regrets but loving
Is not one.
It’s giving my heart to someone
So cold and untrue.

But I’m the bigger man and I
Wish you the best in all you
Do.
God brought you into my life
Not as a blessing but a lesson
To learn from too.

But as long as flowers and roses
Still bloom.
I will continue to love with all
my heart So pure and true.

I Wish

I wish

I wish you the best
In all you do
Forgive my behavior
But I was in love with
You.

The pain will subside
In time
And God will bless me
All I have to do is be
Still and wait.

After that time has
Come I hope we can
Still be friends
But right now the hurt
Feelings won’t go away

I guess this truly is
My last poem to you
I know it’s not that great
But I tried to push through

Just know I wish you
The best and I pray
God watches over you too.

Be

Be

Be that flower that
Grows within the dead
Limbs and thorns.

Shine with a beauty
That this world has
Never known.

Stay true to God
And follow the narrow
Path.

And God will bless
You more than what this
World has torn apart.

Love without end and forgive
Like God has forgiven you.
And when the rain fades away
And the sun comes shining
Through.

You realize you needed both
For you to truly bloom.
It’s the good and the bad
That makes us love the way
We do.
