Growing Up Too Fast
Ever wonder what happened to what used to be?
The things we did when we were young and free
Reminiscing and paging through old yearbooks
Pointing fingers and laughing at old, embarrassing looks
Missing the way things were back in the day
so fresh and new…just starting out on our way
Nothing ever puzzled us, we were youthful and energetic
We enjoyed our days and life was a lot less hectic
Standing in line, pushing and shoving…going out for recess
Now a days, our lives pass day by day from one deadline to the next. God, Its so much
stress!
It seems we’ve all grown up too fast
Sometimes, ignorantly overlooking our past
Standing here at a new beginning,
A young adult who’s just started living
I hold a heavy heart, eager to learn, experience and see
But not wanting to leave behind the childhood that created me

Are We Built For This?
Were we programmed to dream but expect reality;
assembled to succeed but anticipate failure;
built to live but wait for death;
constructed to love but presume heart ache;
put together to socialize but look forward to solitude?
Or
Are we supposed to find reality in our dreams;
let failure pave the way to success;
permit death to show us the vibrance of life;
allow heartache to teach us to love;
agree to let solitude explain how to appreciate being together?

They By
They came and they went
Just how was the time spent?
Did we make the best of it
Or should we have quit?
Are we prepared for what lies ahead?
Can we plan and avoid, instead?
No one knows
But we must live to expect those blows
It isn't up to us to worry about the future
Everything works out for the best, thats the only thing that ines for sure
You are never guaranteed a tomorrow, so live for today
Be sure that you've lived it up to the fullest in every way
Take each step in your best stride
Because you have just one chance to enjoy this ride
Dream of the person you will become and the things you will do,
But to yourself, always be sure to remain true
